“Make Love Not Trash” Tote Bag Winners

I’ve been green for over 20 years with recycling all bottle, cans, plastic and newspapers and composting all my coffee grounds and vegetable peelings. It’s really very easy.

My tip that I don’t think a lot of people already use is to consider buying cloth napkins instead of paper napkins. Everyone already does laundry and cloth napkins add a touch of elegance to dinner.

I use cfl bulbs, reusuable bottles, cloth bags for groceries, catch rainwater for plants, recycle everything I can, make a few trips instead of several. I would like to try to compost.

Beau Soleil Raw Cotton Tote from Saks

Our children will be inheriting this world from us and if we want it to be a healthy place, we will have to start thinking along these lines (reduce, recycle, renew) and I think that the idea is catching on. The bag was on offer at Saks, but is no longer available online. They do provide you with a phone number however so that they can advise you when they think they can offer more.

*A great bag to take along to the supermarket for those little orders.

Bamboo Washcloths On Sale at The Body Shop

At our house, we are really trying to go as green as possible and I just found washcloths this morning from The Body Shop that I want to share with you. They are made of bamboo and from the sounds of them, if we want to make this a better world for our kids, we are going to have to get down to business by looking into these new fibers. Here’s something that I DIDN’T know…

“The world’s fastest growing plant, bamboo can grow up top 4 feet a day, making it fantastically renewable. Our bamboo is grown without the use of pesticides or fertilizers, and the fiber is 100% biodegradable. What’s more, it’s softer than the softest cotton, and naturally hygienic and anti-microbial, making it ideal for washcloths and baby blankets. In fact, it contains “bamboo kun”, an agent that prevents bacteria from cultivating on it. So it isn’t just eco-friendly, it’s skin-friendly too.”

At the moment these bamboo washcloths are selling for $8.50 a piece, but if you buy two, it will save you big time… 2/$12.00 and they come in some gorgeous colors… *Cream, Green, Blue and Lilac.
