If Angelina Jolie Likes Wii, hmmm

It’s all the rage right now. Angelina Jolie is playing with her kid’s Wii to take off the pounds after the birth of her twins. If you have been wanting a system, but felt embarrassed about buying it for yourself, I thing Jolie just made it possible for the rest of us! Apparently there is a Pilates program that is definitely worth checking out.

I have no idea if this is the program that she is using, but it looks like fun… Hmmm… I wonder if I can do enough hinting so that I find it under the Christmas tree this year?? If not, then I will just buy it myself.

I Love to Bounce off the Calories

I don’t think that I’m alone in this… I HATE TO EXERCISE! It’s a little thing with patience I think. I get bored VERY EASILY. And then with some of the exercise programs that are on DVD, well, I like the variety, but it’s kind of hard keeping your eye on the TV while trying to copy the move! That’s why I like about this program so much. You pretty much pull the ball up in front of the TV and then just copy her. You aren’t moving the way you would with most other exercise programs, but don’t let this fool you. The first workout will have your heart pounding by the time you are finished the first 10 minutes… okay, 5 minutes. And this is all to do with bouncing on a ball??

And this is just the first DVD of the 3 DVD set. I haven’t even moved on to the other two! And in closing, you might be asking yourself why you need a DVD. Isn’t a ball enough?? In a word no! I had a ball long before I picked up this kit (now I have two balls and all the straps that come with it) and really didn’t know what to do with it. The first ball came with a wall chart, but my brain doesn’t work that way. I needed hands on help it seems. And this set (listed below $20.00) gave me all the help I need.

*And here’s a little bonus that I wasn’t expecting. My husband plays soccer with the other ball. In my office there is a love seat and he loves to try to kick the ball (while I’m working) and make it land on the love seat without rolling off again and that’s HARD. Hey, he’s exercising so I’m not going to say a word. Just how much damage could he do??

Tuesday’s Four Pick

I just finished my workout with the balance ball. I have had the ball for some time now, but it wasn’t until I picked up an instructional video, did I know what to do with it. REALLY KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT!! As I sit her typing, I’m still puffing. And that was just the first 2o minutes and I would imagine that it is the simplest routine that they feature, but I will get used to this one and then move on. Trust me… I’m not ready for anything more. My legs feel like jelly as it is. But I highly recommend it. I’m even sitting straighter, thanks to the instructions. See, I am learning all ready. I really do like to slouch!! Sound familiar??

Note… this kit doesn’t come with the pump… luckily I already had one, but it does come with all of the accessories listed below. I’m impressed and I’ve used it twice since the weekend! That should tell you something right. This is coming from someone who hates to exercise, but wants her daughter’s waistline. This just might do it!

Okay, I’m hot and sweaty after that workout and I would so love a Margarita right about now. If I get that waistline that I’m so determined to get, I just might treat myself. Monday’s What I’m Wanting – An Exercise Pool

Today’s the day I get to pick what I want… for no good reason and today, it’s a pool. And what’s nice about this one is that it can be used indoor or out. Not sure how you bring this indoors, but just think of the exercise that you could get year round. That waistline that I have been working on… should be a snap if you can exercise in water whenever you want to.

*For those of you who can’t swim, this pool is only 39 inches deep which should take the worry out of the practicing process.

AM/PM Yoga for Beginners (Amazon)

I just finished the PM version of this video. I only have a 2 o’clock slot to work with so I use the time allotted me. I highly recommend it if you really dislike exercising. (That’s definitely me) So for you moms with little kids… the minute they go down for their nap, put it on the video. Not only does it stretch bits of you that haven’t been stretched in years, it’s also relaxing. Might as well take advantage and I was quite surprised to find that I feel quite refreshed after a 20 minute session and I would never have lasted that long with a regular exercise program. And even better, my sides are hurting. I just might get that waistline yet!!

Next week, I’m going to shoot for the morning sessions as well.

Perfect Pushup Bars

I never know what to get my husband for Christmas and this just might be a good idea and that way I get to try them out too. I don’t know if there is any reason why women can’t use them… if it makes it easier for guys to do push-ups, then maybe it would make it easier for us too. All I know is that I want to do a little work and I like the fact that more muscles are targeted and there is less stress on the joints. And if it doesn’t work for me… well, they were for my husband anyway.
