I am in love with th new Nine West Vintage America collection – so much that I wanted to learn more about all things trend, styles, and Nine West. So, I had a chat with Fred Allard, their creative director – and I learned so much that I just needed to share here!

What do you see as some of the big trends for fall?

I love rich colors like purples and reds in suedes and textures. A great boot is a necessity. The thigh high boot is ultra sexy and there are many versions, so there are more wearable options available. Animal print and chain detailing are also a big trend for Fall; perfect for giving an outfit a bit of an edge.

I LOVE the Nine West Vintage America collection – can you tell me more about it, and its inspiration?

It was important for me to offer the Nine West customer a more casual option and I loved the idea of going back to what we love about American fashion – your favorite jeans, rich leathers, relaxed boots. The Vintage America collection updates timeless pieces with a modern yet soulful sensibility.

Personally, I now own the Keliane boot style – what would you advise i wear it with to create the perfect fall outfit?
That is a great boot! I love it with distressed denim tucked in loosely with a great worn in cardigan or cropped sweater; comfort is key with this style.

There’s a lot of belts on the runway this season – how do you like to use them that you find most on-trend and flattering?

Belts are great accessories – they look best when worn around the smallest part of the waist. They create curves and give the allusion of slim proportions simultaneously.

What are the big colors and patterns for fall?

Purple and red are important colors this season. You will see them everywhere – from footwear to nail polish. I also love dark teal. It adds a pop of unexpected color to any outfit. Animal prints are back once again as well. I think women can pull off wearing printed tights and footwear as long as they have confidence. Fashion should be fun so it is best to experiment with the trends to see what works for you.

Halloween Night and A Little Bear Just Knocked on the Door

Now is he cute or what?? It seems that the Trick or Treaters are getting younger every year! This costume fits a 12 to 18 month old baby.

I know that my two were that age once, but it was a LONG time ago. I do remember however, the year Jamie came up with the idea of going out as a Star Rock. He came close lol… He wanted to be a rock star. Took us a few minutes to figure that one out. I think he was about five! He went out as a little Mick Jagger, scarf and all!

I’ve been moaning a LOT about the arrival of the cooler weather and as I speak, the wind is being kind of a nuisance. I guess I can blame it on Hurricane Ike and we are way up here in Canada. He certainly wanted to not forget about us! Such a sweetheart. But the cooler weather has me looking at some gorgeous fall fashion and I’m liking this scarf. Thursday’s Handbag… Coach is my pick

My daughter and I was just talking about this line last night and that had me checking out what Coach has to offer for the fall. I think that I found the perfect bag, but then I don’t have any trouble finding things that I like lol… Send me out shopping and you can pretty much guarantee that I will come home with at least one thing that I just have to have. With this particular bag, I needed lots of pockets, somewhere to clip my keys and it obviously has to look good. This patchwork bag meets everything on my list! There is also a wallet to match and a wristlet. Check them out too! See, I told you.
