Much as I’m trying to curb my handbag insanity–my bag tree has run out of spokes–sometimes even the best of attentions are stopped dead in their tracks.
I refer you to the Junior Drake sale at Rue La La, and the Athena black leather hobo which will not get out of my head.
It retails for $358, and is right now selling for $129–more than enough to be excited about, but it also has the fringe tassels and silver hardware I crave.

Did last year’s flapper trend get a spin-off?
Fringes are everywhere this summer, from flirty and feminine to straight-out showgirl-like! As out-there as this style seems, though, it can be found in a way that embraces the trend and is actually quite wearable.
For example, check out this Fuschia Flapper Dress by eDressMe New York.
Shown here in my favorite color (but available in shades of blue and yellow), it is very much a modern take on the 1920’s flapper style, but the fringe has more of a now-hang, and is mini in a way that would have been scandalous last century!
