Designer Your Own Handbag: Laudi Vidni

In the past, I have come across websites that allow you to design your own handbag by picking the materials, but Laudi Vidni’s site is one of the better ones that I have seen. Laudi Vidni subtly spells “individual” in reverse. There are over a thousand different handbags you can create from all the options.

To start out, you choose from eight silhouettes — horizontal tote, classic shoulder bag, shoulder bag (which is taller and thinner than the classic), satchel, wristlet, hobo, vertical shopper and clutch. Then you click through various parts of the bag, choosing the fabrics and colors for the exterior, the trim and the lining, as well as picking out the hardware.

The customization is fun and you can view all your designs in 360-degrees, as well as on a mannequin to see how it looks in perspective to the body. From the customizations that I have done, most of the bags end up being in the $300-$700 range. Not a bad price for designing your own!

Convertible bags are a hot choice for fall. Look for bags with detachable straps that you can convert from shoulder bags to crossbody style or to a clutch. They are great when you need to be hands-free, or just want a completely different look. Personally for me, convertible crossbody bags are the ideal choice when sightseeing or on shopping trips.

Handbags are my true weakness. Okay, and shoes, and accessories, okay FASHION. But handbags, I love. To get more mileage out of a bag purchase, I’ve been looking to buy one of the fall’s convertible bags. You know, something that goes from shoulder to tote, or hobo to hip-slung with a quick switch of a strap.

I love the color, texture and bohemian simplicity of the Kooba tied convertible hobo bag. And I feel like I could honestly carry this Foley + Corinna convertible small leather tote in red almost every day. It goes from shoulder to tote so flawlessly, and the scale is just adorable.

You never know what you are going to find on the sales rack at higher end department stores. I’ve gotten some gorgeous handbags and other items recently by scouring the sales. And that goes for online too…when you are on the sites for Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys, Net-a-porter, Neiman Marcus or anywhere else, always click over to the Sales page. Getting designer goods at a discount is always a good feeling.

Recently, I found a really pretty ruffled blouse at Neiman Marcus. It was very similar to another one that is on sale right now. This ruffled neck blouse is marked down from $145 to just $36. It features a ruffled scoop neck and a tie at the waist. Everything about this top is just so pretty. Sizes are limited…they only have large and extra large left. Large is available in white or pink, while the XL is only available in white.

If you are looking for a new jacket that really makes a statement, take a look at this SoCa Techno Jacket in a fun yellow color.
