Monday’s What I’m Wanting – An Exercise Pool

Today’s the day I get to pick what I want… for no good reason and today, it’s a pool. And what’s nice about this one is that it can be used indoor or out. Not sure how you bring this indoors, but just think of the exercise that you could get year round. That waistline that I have been working on… should be a snap if you can exercise in water whenever you want to.

*For those of you who can’t swim, this pool is only 39 inches deep which should take the worry out of the practicing process.

I have been doing a lot of complaining lately about my back aching and that it was my office chair that was to blame and I honestly thought that it was. Apparently not. A few nights ago my husband came home a with a new chair. Looks great! Unfortunately, my back is still aching and no I haven’t told him yet. But here’s the clincher. Just to give my back a break, I pulled out my exercise ball and used it instead of my chair. I thought that a couple of minutes might help. I ended up sitting on it all afternoon. I have no idea why sitting on a ball should be better for your back than an expensive chair, but that’s seems to be the case.

The exercise ball that I am using didn’t come with a dvd, which might have been a good idea since trying to follow a wall chart is a little confusing, but I’m definitely going to give it another go. Summer is coming and I do have a few bathing suits hanging in the closet that I hope to fit into, so if you are looking for a new way to tone or your back has been complaining lately, I give this a definite thumbs up. It just might do the trick.

Toothbrush Sterilizer

Have you ever climbed out of bed feeling absolutely horrid for no reason?? Well, maybe there is a reason after all. From what I have been reading, germs can live in the wet bristles of your toothbrush for quite a long time. Kind of gross when you think about it. So, perhaps sterilizing the toothbrush on a regular basis really is the way to go!

I can’t wait to try this. I have been hearing such good things about it and lets face it… I love my gadgets. But, what I really like about this makeup sponge is that I can use it for my liquid foundation or mineral if that’s what I’m using on a particular day. And then I don’t have to go looking for another brush to apply my blush. This one sponge is all you need. I have been thinking of downsizing this year. I just have too much of everything, so this just might be the answer!! And I almost forgot to tell you, it’s washable!

Dumbbell Rack

I just spotted this rack and instantly thought of my daughter. I really should use weights, but unfortunately I don’t and I really don’t know a lot about them… so I just called upstairs to ask her why she thinks that they are so important. Here’s what she said… in a nutshell… weights create muscle which means that you are burning calories without doing anything. I think that was the jist of it. She also pointed out to me that it would help prevent osteoperosis. I think that was a hint!

This afternoon I will go up and see what she has that I can actually lift.

Natural Stress Relief: Dan Gibson’s Solitudes

After so many years of sitting in front of a computer… okay it hasn’t been all that long, but it seems to be enough to warrant taking up Yoga and at the end of my session, I am supposed to relax into the Corpse pose… a position that is a lot better than it sounds. I’m to close my eyes for ten minutes and let my back muscles relax. That also means shutting off your brain for those ten minutes.

I find the best way to do it is to listen to something from the Solitudes collection. This particular CD features a song called Unwinding Stream… go and take a listen. Amazon has four song samples that are truly relaxing. Turning on my electric blanket and curling up for a nap this afternoon, listening to this can’t be anything but good for the soul! Be sure to take a listen.

Ingrown Hairs… a thing of the past??

I really hated giving up the epilator. If you stayed on top of it every day, within a week or so, the job was quick and legs silky soft. *And each day took less and less time. My only problem was a BAD case of ingrown hairs. I tried Tend Skin and it really didn’t seem to help in my case, but I likely have hair with a bad case of attitude, so if it didn’t want to grow out properly, it simply didn’t. But I stumbled upon this product and began reading the reviews and it sounds awfully promising. Definitely worth checking out. I’m soooo tired of shaving.

*I had the best results using the epilator to grab the tiny hairs… seemed to hurt less but I had the same results by the end of the week.

Really interested in hearing if anyone has tried the product!

I have this really hard time sitting in a car for more than 30 minutes at a time. You can imagine how sitting in a car from Toronto to Florida was for me.
