Has to go to this cute little guy all decked out in Oshkosh. I remember this line from when my two were that age. They grew out of the clothes long before they wore them out and that’s saying something with my two. They spent more time building forts and tree houses than eating. Actually I have photos of them not even making it up the stairs for lunch. I have a photo of Jamie actually sound asleep… half way up the stairs to the kitchen. *In a nutshell… these clothes last and last.

Cute Outfit of the Day – Us Angels Sleeveless Satin Dress with Sash

The tiny model indeed looks like an angel in her ivory satin with a silvery satin sash. Pair that up with a crinoline layer, pearl buttons, a pair of white stockings and black Mary Janes and it would take some looking to find an outfit to beat today’s “Cute Outfit of the Day”.

Choosing Our Daughter’s Clothes

Now are these adorable or what?? I’m positive that I bought a pair just like them for Britt when she was letting me pick out her clothes. A year or so later all of that came to an end and she was straight into blue jean jackets and cowboy boots. Ahhh, the days.

The No Snow Snuggler

This just makes too much sense. No more tiny little wrists that are exposed to the elements!! Just slip it under their snowsuit or winter jacket and they are ready to go out and have fun! I can still remember the kids coming in after playing all afternoon in the snow. Their little wrists were so cold that they glowed. And you know that kids aren’t going to come in and tell you that they are cold… we have to take care of it before it happens.

Back-to-school shopping easier the 2nd time around… I Don’t Think So

I don’t even know what made me stop and read this article. I have one son who has his own house now and my daughter lives upstairs in the loft… pretty much taking care of herself and us (her parents) if truth be known. So, I really don’t have to do any of the “back-to-school” shopping anymore. Those days are behind me. But Mary Pat, brought back a lot of memories and not a few giggles.

“We are pretty much done with shopping, except for one important item. The chore I refuse to do by myself is to buy backpacks. I’d been to backpack hell and back with my two daughters. I wasn’t going there with these two teenagers even though Jen and Jack had both authorized me to select backpacks on their behalf. “

If you haven’t finished your “back-to-school” shopping as of yet, you might want to check out Mary Pat’s reminiscings. And even more importantly, if you have kids who are off to college or university in a year of so, you will NEED to read the article. Both Britt and Jamie lived at home while going to college so I didn’t have to furnish dorm rooms for them. I didn’t realize just how lucky I was until I read the article. I made a lucky escape!

Buying School Shoes Online??

I can still remember going to the mall just before school began to buy ONE pair of new shoes. That doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. Not only do kids want more than one pair, parents aren’t taking the kids to the mall to buy them. It seems that buying shoes online has become more popular than ever.

I guess I can see how much easier this makes life for the moms out there. Hawling three little munchkins around a mall for an afternoon in HOPES of finding a pair of shoes is hard work. Sitting in front of a computer in your housecoat… as I am now is a lot easier.

But here is something that really surprised me…

“Online footwear sales are expected to nearly double from $2.8 billion in 2005 to $5.5 billion by 2010. Forrester Research and Shop.Org attributed an expected 21 percent increase in online apparel, accessory and footwear sales this year mostly to shoes.”

I knew that shopping online was becoming popular, but I didn’t know that it was anything close to this!! I think that I’m going to go into business selling shoes with my shoe loving daughter!

Cowboy Boots for Little Girls

It seems that times haven’t changed. I just found a selection of pint sized cowboy boots for that special little lady in your life!

From about the time Britt was four years old, she developed this thing for cowboy boots. I have no idea how many she owns at the moment, but she just bought another pair while in California. That girl definitely takes after her grandmother.

Has your little darling been asking for a pair of her own?
