Now, I’m not saying this sex-factor works for everyone – though your man may secretly wish it did – but there’s tamer stuff too. And, it’s all uniformly gorgeous. Check out some images!

Many of us are wearing the wrong size bra…and doing so can make our posture look poor, and even make us look like we weigh more than we do! We got some hints from Panache on finding a correctly fitting bra, and they will be super helpful in your next shopping foray!

1 – If your cups are baggy, that’s a sign you are wearing the wrong size. Try going down one cup size. Also, if your cups are creasing around the nipple, try to decrease your band size so that the fabric becomes taut.

2. That said, the opposite problem is just as bad. If your cleavage is spilling out over the tops, your breasts do not look bigger, you just look lumpy. You are probably wearing too small of a cup size, so try going one size up.

3. Your support comes not only from the cups and straps, it comes from the band size. If you are wearing the wrong size, your bra will dig into your flesh and you’ll have those tell-tale marks when you take it off.

4. A great way to test your fit is to stand sideways and look at your profile in the mirror. If your bra band is at the same level all the way around, you are wearing the right size. If it’s riding up, you are wearing the wrong size AND creating the illusion of back fat!

5. Here’s a tip that I love: A great way to see if your bra band is the right fit is if you have just enough space to insert two fingers under the back band, and one under the center front. No more, no less!

6. When you get a new bra, don’t get one that JUST fits, get one that DOES fit. That means being able to close it on the last hook. You may not know this, but a  bra band can grow as much as four inches after a series of wash and wear. That means with wear, you will ultimately need to tighten it, so you want one that starts out fitting snug (but comfortably). .

7. Is your underwire flat at the front? The center of the front of the bra should be flat against the breastbone. Otherwise, you may need to try on the next cup size.

8. In a related note, the wire at the side of the bra should also sit firm on the ribcage, but not dig in. (Again, those telltale marks!)

9. Do a test drive – put on a fitted t-shirt. Then,  look at yourself from all angles. The idea is to have an uplifted look, but no sagging or bulges.

10. Once you have done your test drive, and walked around in your bra, seeing how it feels and looks, you are ready to go forth and enjoy!

Ever since I graduated from the realm of training bras long ago, I’ve had a love for fun lingerie… despite the fact that my decolletage sort of demands undergarments that are more functional than flirty and flimsy. And with the rise of peekaboo lingerie, namely bralettes, I can’t help but lust after the lacy trims that have been peeking out from under low-neckline sweaters, boyfriend blazers, and oversized tanks — another trend Rihanna rocks admirably!

While they are meant to serve as lower-maintenance lingerie for the more modestly endowed gals, bralettes are primarily for show with their bright colors, bold patterns, and scalloped edges.

Make sure you don’t go overboard with the whole idea of show-and-tell skivvies, though; the idea is to leave plenty to the imagination and give onlookers just a glimpse!

Luckily for me and all you other ladies who need a little extra “shelving,” although bralettes don’t offer much support (in fact, it would pretty much defeat their purpose), they can be layered to still achieve the peekaboo look without necessarily having to go commando.

I recently discovered Urban Fox, they are one of only a handful of eco-friendly undies companies in North America, and are attempting to show that being green and being sexy are not mutually exclusive.

Suddenly, the episode of Sex and the City where Samantha tastes the results of her man eating asparagus is coming back to me…

That said, these undies are totally cute! I love the “lacey” style, a perfect blend of pink and black lace – my favorite things. All the designs are sewn by hand, and the materials are natural – stuff like tagua nut buttons and rubber elastic. Totally worth checking out – and way better than asparagus!

I was aghast. Who else does this??? I’ve been hand-washing my lingerie for as long as I can remember.

“It’s just easier…” she said sheepishly.

Were I not one to judge, I may have hid my chagrin and moved on, but alas…I am quite the opposite, and was haunted by our conversation the rest of the evening.

I believe it was akin to the universe taking pity on my tortured soul when that same night, I read about Soma Intimates’ Wash & Go Bra, an innovative new bra that is actually MEANT be machine washed and dried without losing its shape.

How does it work? Most foam pads shrink during washing and the outer fabric that adheres to the foam collapses into the foam. This causes what many of us know as the “orange peel” effect. This pad is a special combination of foam and laminate that can survive repeat washings.

The underwire also has a special cross section shape making it very difficult to bend and the wire is housed in a special fabric sleeve called a wire casing. This sleeve is woven very close and contains a special fiber that melts at low temperatures to stick the fabric together. This makes it very difficult for the wire to puncture the fabric during the wash cycle yet still keeps the fabric soft and flexible.

Can you still kill this bra? Eventually, I’m sure – all lingerie does have it’s frailties. But this one has survived repeated washings and dryings unfeathered…and THAT is something worth drinking to.

Among my holiday loot was a gift card to Mandee, and for the last few months, the card has been burning a hole in my wallet.

This afternoon, while avoiding tax-preparation (can you blame me???), I realized it was time to buy myself a present!

And thus, the results of my decision – my new polka dot ruffle chemise. While, yes, I have more than enough chemises (and, even, polka dot ones) – this spoke to me on several levels. It is cute, it is sexy, and it is under $20!

Nothing says recessionista sexy like that!

Now, if you will excuse me, I have to go face my fate. Pray for me!
