Yves Saint Laurent Variation Blush

I’m not usually that particular about my blush (eye makeup, that’s another story). However, recently I was introduced to Yves Saint Laurent Variation Blush and I fell in love with it.

This blush uses a combination of matte and iridescent textures that capture the light, producing gorgeous color. Available at Saks Fifth Avenue for $44, this blush comes in 9 terrific shades, ranging from neutrals and pinks to reds and browns. My personal favorites are “Pink Delight” for daytime and “Cinnamon Rose” for night.

Today’s Shopping Tip

I have this rule of thumb… try out drugstore brands first and see if they work. If they do… I have saved myself a ton of money. If they don’t, then I move on. I actually saw this idea used on a British TV show last year. The family had to decide if the food product was a generic brand or the higher priced item that had a name well recognized. The kids didn’t like the idea at all but were surprised when they couldn’t tell the difference (in some cases). I have noticed the same thing happen with some of my cosmetics. Granted, it doesn’t always work, but every once in a while I find a great product that I had ignored on previous shopping trips. What great products have you found this way??

Thursdays at Sephora – What Everyone Is Looking At

It’s time for another stroll through Sephora to see what they have that I/We might want. Thank goodness we have access to Sephora on-line. Makes it so much easier for those of us who haven’t a shop close by. I think that my closest is downtown Toronto. Going to have to do something about that! And something is in the works!

Today, I have fallen in love with another product from Two Faced. It’s called Glamour Gloss and this company is rapidly becoming a favorite of mine. To start off, I have already picked two shades for me that will be perfect. If you have yellow skin tones like I do, check out the Love Bites (plum shimmer) and Material Girl (golden pink shimmer) I also like the fact that they are promoting clear colors, which we all want for the summer months. We can leave the heavier pigments for the colder weather which we all know will be with us far too quickly. The line also contains a high concentration of essential oils that will feel so soothing to the lips.

Other colors available are: Girls on Film and Strange Love. Definitely worth checking out. Now tell me… can a girl have too many glosses in her make-up collection??
