1. One watch is not enough for anyone. The more you have, chances are that “maybe” you will have one that works with the outfit you decide to wear. But then again, you will probably need a new one. Something about Murphy’s Law or something.

Here are just SOME of my Mother-In-Law’s rules for shopping.

1. One watch is not enough for anyone. The more you have, chances are that “maybe” you will have one that works with the outfit you decide to wear. But then again, you will probably need a new one. Something about Murphy’s Law or something.

*I lost count of the watches that I have seen her wear… and they were all gorgeous!

2. Never walk by a shoe store without perusing the stock. And if you find a pair that you absolutely love, buy one in every color. It doesn’t matter if you don’t need that particular color. You can always buy an outfit to go with it in the weeks to come, if need be.

3. When you buy something, be sure to cut the all the tags off the item, put it on a hanger and then slip it into your closet. Father-in-law will never notice!

4. And those items that you buy. Always leave them in the closet for about a month just in case Father-in-Law asks if they are new. That way Mother-in-Law can say no.

5. Never go to the mall without updating your wardrobe. There absolutely has to be something you need. If you can’t find something, you simply aren’t looking hard enough.

6. Vacations are made for shopping. That means at least one new blouse each day, but I can’t remember ever seeing my Mother-in-Law with just one shopping bag. By the end of each day, she had several in tow. That also means that she made sure that she left Father-in-Law in the care of my husband (far away from the mall), so that she has time to slip all of her goodies into the suitcase, before they returned to the house.

**I’m sure that she wouldn’t mind a bit if you help yourself to one or two of her shopping methods.
