I think the only thing that really annoys me about online shopping these days, is the shipping costs. Yesterday I was looking at a makeup kit that was on sale for $59.00 and the shipping would have tacked on another $20.00. I don’t know if retailers realize that you (then) have to sit back and decide just how much you want the product. Okay, it seems that Macy*s has considered the fact and is offering free shipping on any $75.00 beauty order along with a roomy tote! I’m liking those kind of numbers.
Have I ever mentioned the fact that I’m a sucker for Gift With Purchase! It’s always a great way to try out new items and I don’t think that there has ever been a case when I have been disappointed! I love the size of the tote too. I could do some serious Christmas shopping with that bag! I always go shopping with my daughter and have to keep the bags out of sight. This freebie would hide everything!

Now that more and more of us are shopping online, new frustrations are mounting.? I just finished reading an article on this very topic and the writer makes a lot of really good points. Now it’s your turn. Today’s question… what experiences have you had online that really needs to be fixed or changed.

And then there was yesterday…

On a different issue, (sort of) I was reading an article in the weekend paper about how mall stores have to do a lot to entice us through their doors. Here’s a few issues that really annoy Britt and I.

1. Music really too loud. It should be in the background.

2. Change rooms too small and no mirrors IN THE CHANGE ROOM. Do you really want to try something on and then go out into the store to see how you look?

3. A place to sit not being provided for tired/bored husbands or an elderly shopper.

4. Wide aisles. (Here is where Britt and I differed in our opinions.) We were in a particular store yesterday and it was very roomy without all of the space being crammed with merchandise. Britt thought that they were wasting space. I liked the fact that the store was thinking of our comfort and not the bottom line. When I told my daughter my views, she changed her mind and agreed with me.

5. Sales staff hovering. Britt is the one who really hates this. I have no qualms about thanking them and sending them their way, but it seems that she would rather avoid the store all together than be bothered by them. Now greeting their customers is nice… but then leave us alone until we ask for help. At least that the way I like it.

So, what are your thoughts??
