Ruffles
If you can only afford to add one new dress to your wardrobe this summer, make it a ruffled one. Whether you choose a dress with a ruffled neckline (like the one from Nordstrom picture here), a ruffled hem or allover ruffles, that’s up to you. One of the most popular looks is a dress with an asymmetrical row of ruffles down the front.

Nude Hues
From shoes to handbags, nude hues are a hit this season. Off-white, cream and other nude shades are extremely flattering. Check out these nude sandals. Partner them with a nude leather tote or straw handbag.

Jeweled Sandals
Dress up your feet in jeweled flat sandals. Certainly gladiator sandals are hot once again. But if you are over that trend, look for flat thong sandals that are accented with crystals, jewels and other glitzy accents.

Yes, I know I just said nude colors were in, but so are brights. From lemon yellow to bright fuchsia, look for satchel, totes and clutches in bold colors. Bright patent leather bags with a little bit of texture are on trend. Look for croc-embossed bags in brilliant shades.

Distressed Jeans
Jeans that are worn in all the right places are hot right now. From skinny capris to relaxed boyfriend jeans, shop for distressed denim. A new pair of jeans that looks like you have been wearing them for years is the perfect choice.

Geometric Prints
Floral prints are always hot for summer. This season however, geometric prints are in too. From black and white tops to colorful dresses, look for geometric patterns and abstract watercolor prints. When wearing a busy print, keep your accessories and jewelry to a minimum to keep the focus on your apparel.

Wear Less Makeup
In the warmer months, you should use much less makeup than you do in the winter. Put away the dark lipsticks and liners. This spring, keep your makeup routine simple. You have to wonder just how many different variations a designer can come up with when designing a pair of sandals. Well, here is an example I don’t think I have seen yet. It’s featured at Saks under their “Exotic” sandals line. *You might not be able to see it, but the shoe features a tiny D to let everyone know that you are wearing a Dior sandal.

Sandals are going upscale from what I remember of my twenty something days. This particular pair features a 4 inch heel, has leather lining and a suede sole. Made in Italy btw. So, are you up for a 4 inch heel? Have you noticed that they are getting higher and higher. Recently I spotted a pair of five inch heel, so I have to wonder, will they ever reach six?? Or have they already?

Not sure that I like the gold around the ankle. What do you think?

I can’t find one thing that I don’t like about these shoes… except maybe one thing. It would be awfully tough choosing the red over the black. I
think that I like them equally and you know what that means right?? You have to admit, that either of them would look awfully cool on New Year’s Eve!
