Mom Style: Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize!
It’s not that I didn’t have them or use them before, but now I’m really making an effort to jazz up my outfits with accessories. I pretty much always try to wear a bracelet or necklace, often cool wooden pieces. I think, now that I’m over 30 and a mom, it’s time for a more sophisticated look. However, that does not mean that I have to be boring or resemble an old lady. There’s a happy middle ground to accessorizing for a young mama. I’ve made a few discoveries I …read more

Can you just DIE???
I used to think scarves were just for winter, but I was so wrong. A fabulous scarf equals classically sexy pretty much year round.
Check out this fun purple tie-dyed scarf by Elizabeth Gillett, right now on sale for $29 (usually $60) at ideeli. Purple is huge this season, and will remain so come fall, so this is a great way to keep a pop of trendy color in your wardrobe without having to ransack your closet!
Elizabeth Gilett was trained as a painter and printmaker, which is why her scarves seem to unite art and fashion. What a …read more

I’m off to do some market research (i.e. outlet shopping) for the weekend; in preparation, I’m checking out some upcoming sample sales.
This week, there’s a pretty awesome one coming up on Monday.
I’m crazy for scarves, and on Monday, ideeli.com is hosting a raj scarf and tunic sale with starting prices as low as $24. These scarfs are so cool, they have a total Bollywood style – very hot right now – and are produced by New Delhi brothers in Indian facilities using animal and retro graphic prints in vivid shades. They are totally lightweight and luxe, perfect for warm …read more

I love how scarves have become such an intrinsic part of accessorizing, and are no longer relegated to hiding a bad hair day.
Check out the scarf at left, from ABonita – it’s a unique 4-in-1 fashion/head scarf that is not only adorable, but super functional. Check out all you can do with it:
Attach the headband over the fabric for one look.
Attach the headband under the fabric to give it a more flowing look.
Hide the hardware by tucking in the shorter ends over the metal ring
to give it a “tail” look.
Tuck all the loose fabric over …read more

It seems that winter has already arrived… way too soon, but it has definitely arrived. However… with a set like this, I don’t know how anyone could complain about the cold. This looks amazingly warm! And yes, this is coming from me! Also comes in Chocolate or Black. That should just about cover everyone!
Have you made a snowman yet?? I just noticed that the little girls that live next door have already created a pretty cool one in the back yard. Maybe tonight I will drag Britt and her Dad out to make one too. Might as well enjoy winter …read more

I don’t know if it’s just a winter thing, but fashion has been on my mind a lot lately… even winter fashion and most of the time by February, all I am thinking about is what will be hot for spring. But that’s not the case this morning. I found this scarf and thought that I would share. And just in case you are wondering, it can be worn in more ways than just the way pictured.

Just in case Christmas is approaching a whole lot faster than you might have hoped, this morning I found a book that offers knitting patterns for scarves and lets face it, who can’t use a new scarf?? I own a grand total of one and it does get boring. All I have to do is learn how to knit… how hard could it be?? I knit a pair of booties in Brownies about a zillion years ago. A scarf should be a snap?? And if I don’t get them all done for this year… there’s always next year. That …read more
