I am smitten with a new piece of arm candy.
No, it’s not a man: It’s Carla Mancini’s gorgeous top zipper satchel – It’s a darling spring yellow (it comes in other colors, but yellow IS the color of the season), and made of pebble grain Italian leather with a front pocket that has an antique lock closure.
As we get into the flow of spring, you will see lots of yellows, greens, and oranges abounding – it’s the colors of citrus, sun, and bright warm days – how awesome to have a season reflected in style???

The Rebirth of the Birkenstock

It ain’t Spring without sandals, and you don’t have a complete wardrobe of spring shoes until you have Birkenstocks. (Or, as my mom calls them, “birkies”.)
I have to say though, I’ve always found birkies to be more of a necessarily evil than a fashion choice. They always resembled footwear I’d see in a Bible movie more than something I’d put on my own well-pedicured toes.
However, I may have to eat my words (or my shoe-snobbery, I suppose)…because the Birkenstock has been reinvented! This Spring’s offerings are surprisingly stylish, as well as eco-friendly, comfortable and affordable sandals, beginning at just $50.

After a flight that will go down in the annals of annoyance, I am finally home – and going through some of my favorite new acquisitions.
I LOVE the Nantucket Jacket from DownEast Basics. It’s shown here in blue, but also comes in a very fetching pink – and retails for around $30!
My favorite element is that ruffled Mandarin collar – fine details like that will dress up even your drabbest jeans and sneakers days, and make you pop for fall!
The material is a cotton/terry mix, which is nontraditional in a jacket for me, but gives it a warm, cozy feel …read more

A return to the A-Line, double breasted style. Quite gorgeous and very sixty-ish which we are seeing so much of lately. It seems that the sixties are returning with a vengeance. I wonder if the mod hairstyles and makeup will follow suit??

I Must Dodge the Raindrops!
Now this shouts out spring to me BIG TIME, but I have to admit that I would be a little nervous wearing it out into the elements. This Carolina Herrera Violet Trench is going to set you back $4,290.00, so you can understand my nervousness at getting caught in the rain. But it is gorgeous!

Baseball Umbrellas Without the Frills

Yes, you read it right. This is an umbrella for all of those baseball lovers out there. Actually this would appeal to Britt big time. She has been playing some sort of baseball since since was four. She’s now twenty something and softball is still a big part of her life. So, when I spotted this, I just knew that I had to feature it. Definitely not your average umbrella and it’s big enough to protect you from the nastiest rainstorm!

I think that I’ve been getting ahead of myself. I am completing jumping over spring and straight into summer. I’m really tired of being cold, but then I saw this bouquet. I’m thinking that it would look very nice sitting in my office. Well, maybe it would after I tidied up a bit. I’m like Britt… I thrive in chaos!
And another thing… tulips aren’t quite as expensive as roses, so that means I have more money to spend on other things!
And just in case you didn’t know, to keep your tulips looking great, keep the vase clean and give …read more
