Indiana Jones Halloween Costume Set Up

Like I reported last month about my son’s wish to be Indiana Jones for Halloween this year, I “created” his costume instead of buying the cheap set from Wal-Mart or the more expensive one, yet the same set from online stores and Toys’R'Us.

I came up with something more expensive, BUT, I made the right decision in doing it this way coz all the stuff I found for the costume, except the fedora hat and whip, will transition into his regular wardrobe and winter clothes. Let me show them to you.

Fedora Hat and Whip, from Ebay for $14.99

tan brown polo shirt, Old Navy, $9.50. I settled for a polo shirt because I couldn’t find a plain light brown dress shirt.

Dark Khakis, Wal-Mart, $10

Dark Brown Sherpa Jacket, Old Navy, $29.99. yes we know, Indiana Jones’ jacket has no hood, ON was my last stop for a brown jacket after searching everywhere.

With the exception of the hat and whip which will probably go into the toy box, the polo shirt, pants, and jacket will still be part of his everyday clothing after Halloween. The jacket will be his Winter jacket for this year since it’s a Sherpa jacket anyway. That $30 is definitely a good investment. BTW, we don’t get much snow, if anything at all here in North Carolina. But just in case, he has 2 other quilted winter jackets from previous years so YES, he’s covered this year .

ROSS Shopping : Carter’s Plaid Belted Dress

I went to ROSS today to find a brown jacket for my son’s Indiana Jones costume but I didn’t find any. What I found was fall and winter clothes for the daughter. First up is this Carter’s Plaid belted dress. It reminds me of a Burberry dress but it’s Carter’s and it’s darn gorgeous . Retail price is $26 but I only paid the ROSS price of $8.99. SCORE!!!

The skinny belt and pockets are just too adorable to ignore.

I’d probably put her in black tights and either black Mary Jane or her gold flats until I find a black pair of boots .

White Dress & White Fuzzy Sandals

When I bought this white dress, the cashier said, “how long will it stay white?” I don’t know but I had to buy this $7.99 white dress from the PX. And then at the concession stand, this lady was selling sandals with fuzzy adornments on ‘em. She was attaching them herself. She saw right away how piqued I was so she didn’t waste any time. “It’s $7″ she yelled. The Hubs who knows me too well, handed me $20, right away. I was holding the baby and bags so I couldn’t reach into my purse. But Hubs came to the rescue .

We were about to leave for brunch last Sunday and I was as usual in a hurry so I was yelling, “somebody take a picture of her while she’s still clean”. LOL. The Hubs came to the rescue for the second time. Her hair is still wet from bath so I didn’t style it in a ponytail yet. She looks cute though

Faded Glory Optic Slip-On

I just picked this Faded Glory Optic Slip-On for the boy the other day. An easy pair of shoes he could slip on around the house or when we go take care of some errands. I was going to take a picture of it today but he decided to wear it at school. It was something easy for him before the school bus pulled in front of the drive way, LOL. Boys! . I bought it for $7.50 at WalMart. The website says it’s not available in stores but I bought it in store so Wally World needs to check their files, heh.

Rockstars Don’t Do Homework

I bought this for my son last Saturday at Goody’s. It’s actually a 3-piece shirt set. He can remove the short sleeve shirt and wear by itself, same goes with the long sleeved shirt. Or put the two together to keep him warm a bit. And the beanie to go. It used to be $24 but was on sale for $6.97. Woohooo

Here are a couple more Spring tops for the Lil Miss. The 1st shopping stop this weekend for the growing Toddler of mine.

$5.99 each. There’s another top actually but she wore it yesterday so it’s not in the laundry basket. It’s a blue tops with “Love” embroidery on the front. $5.99 as well.
