Charlotte Russe Dresses Me for Mexico

I honestly had never given Charlotte Russe a fair chance until recently I was sent a gift card and took the opportunity to integrate their super-affordable but on-trend styles into my life.

Surviving Wedding Season, Single Girl Style

Ah, summer: A time when it appears your friends are getting married and settling happily into domestic bliss while you remain, well, the not.
Not that you are bitter or anything! You have…fabulous shoes.

Delivery.com, a site I swear by for my spicy tuna roll lunch specials, just released list of recommended items to help survive wedding season–it’s so stylish a concept, I had to share.

Flip Flops – To slip on, in between pictures when you are stuck in ill-fitting shoes, chosen by the bride who thinks they are gorgeous…
A flask – When the champagne isn’t flowing fast enough…

Speaking of double stick tape, I must give a moment of uber props to commando’s new matchtips, which are purse-friendly tins of double stick tape dots. They stick to skin and fabric, so they really do help to make those red-light wardrobe emergencies go away! Meaning you can wear your ugly bridesmaid dress with confidence…even if it is strapless and a random shade of orange, and you have no cleavage to hold it up. Good luck!

More Retro-Chic: The A-Line Dress Returns

How can you not remember the absolutely hot 60s-style A-line shift dress?

It’s a little vintage, ever so slightly mod, but classically gorgeous – and it’s back!

A great example of a now-take on this retro look is the Milly Fabulous Obelisk A Line Shift Dress. It’s a very “uptown” look, and would look great with gold jewelry and upswept hair, my fave part is the buckled self-belt at empire waist and slant pockets at hip.

Another reason I love this style: ANYONE can wear it! Whether you are 25 or 55, it is an appropriate choice, and the A-line silhouette is very forgiving to our “curves”, skimming over the stomach and hips.

Totally cute – I’m down with this trend. (And perhaps this dress.)

Celebrity Style… Is It In You??

In this shot, Jessica Simpson reminds me of a particular girl at my old university (whose name I have long forgotten), but thinking back, she had this way of putting together the most ordinary items and together, they would work amazingly well. The rest of us where in plain old jeans but she would take a few pieces than alone wouldn’t catch your eye, pull them all together and look positively amazing! So does Jessica Simpson in this shot!

Have to admit… Simpson’s clothing allowance probably is a whole lot more than we had to spend back then. On the other hand… that girl always managed and she was about as broke as the rest of us. I guess she just had style and the rest of us didn’t lol…

Hilary Duff Loves Her Sunglasses

Just in case that you thought that the over-sized sunglasses were out of date… apparently not so! And you can see why celebs choose this style. I think she’s going for… “no, I’m not really who you think I am”. I just resemble that singer. On the other hand… maybe she likes to be noticed??
