Bejeweled Flats

Sparkling stones are a girl’s best friend, and this summer we get to wear them on our shoes! Pretty jewels will embellish flats and sandals for a dressed up look that’s also very comfortable.

Neon Trend

Bright and neon sandals are great for adding color to a basic summer top or a little black dress. Have fun with this trend, and be bold in the color selections of your shoes.

Hello Yellow

Yellow is this summer’s hot color. Bright, summery yellows will receive the most attention, especially when paired with other vibrant colors for a fun, glowing look.

Gladiator Trend

You can get some wear out of last season’s gladiator sandals because we’re still going to see a lot of them this summer. This summer’s gladiator sandals will be big and bold with a focus on ankle straps in gold, bronze, and browns. If you don’t yet have a pair, this is a must-have accessory that you can acquire without exhausting your wallet.

Strappy Details Trend

Fringe, straps, lace-ups, and ties are decorating sandals left and right for a look that’s fierce and daring, and very trendy.

You may know what the trends are – but now which one works for your own face.

In order to ease your shopping expedition, I consulted Eden Wexler, a celebrity sunglass stylist, and she helped to guide me through what glasses fit what face shape!

Round

For a round face shape, the goal is to make the face appear longer and thinner. Frames should be wider then they are deep. Slightly angular frames will narrow a round face. Metal frames with adjustable nose pads will keep lenses from resting on fuller cheeks. Best to avoid excessively rounded styles which will exaggerate facial roundness

Heart

With heart-shaped faces, the trick is to find frames that minimize the width of the top of the face and add width below the eye line to offset the narrow chin. Try frames that are wider at the bottom or styles with low temples to add balance. Also, rimless frames and frames with rounded tops – such as aviators and butterfly shapes – as well as squared bottoms work well.

Oval

The oval face can wear virtually any style because of its balanced proportions. The chin is slightly narrower than the forehead, and the cheekbones are typically high. Frames should keep the oval’s natural balance. Select frames that are as wide or wider than the broadest part of the face such as wraps and shields work well. (NOTE: It is common for people who have a classic oval face to have small features. The goal Is to keep the face in balance. Make sure the frame is in proportion and doesn’t overwhelm the features.)

Square

A square face has a strong jaw line and a broad forehead with a wide chin and cheekbones. The goal is to find a frame that makes the face look longer. Avoid a frame that is flat on the bottom, as this will mirror the face shape. Look for a frame that has some curve or uplift to draw attention away from the jawline. Gently curved narrow styles will minimize squareness and lengthen the face. Round and oval frames compliment this face shape.

ALSO:

When trying on sunglasses – -be sure to do the “smile test” — If the glasses rise up off of your nose bridge when you smile — they are not for you! Try something else.

In the world of fashion, so many good things happened this year but alas, so many bad things did as well.
The editors at Lemondrop.com have come up with their Top 10 Worst Fashion Trends of 2008 – feel free to weigh in with your own thoughts on the worst of the looks, and how you feel these weigh in.
10. Bowler Hats
It takes a village (of blond starlets) to ruin a classic.

9. Uggs
The gateway boot. First, it’s the Uggs, then comes the jungle juice. Next thing you know, you’re knocked up with twins.

8. Celeb Perfumes
Because we’ve never once wondered what it would be like to smell like Paris or Mariah, and we’re not willing to pay them to find out.

7. Gladiator Sandals
Somehow, those weird Renaissance-festival people convinced trendy young things to sport their garb, it probably involved some sort of frog potion packaged as a delicate cream blush.

6. Fannypacks
Things we love: Fannypak, the “America’s Best Dance Crew” contestants.
Things we loathe: Fannypacks, the accessory. Since when is it cool to look like a foreign exchange student at Epcot Center?

5. Sunglasses at Night
Because the same guy that wear sunglasses to the club is the same guy that is pushing his demo in your face and hawking some new energy drink. Here, Diddy is spotted with another horrendous accessory: Brody Jenner.

4. Crop Tops
No one wants to see your belly. And Heidi Montag, no one wants to see your gross husband Spencer either.

3. Leggings
Cameltoe doesn’t look good on anyone. Trust us.

2. High-Waisted Jeans
How bad are these things? They make even gorgeous Mischa Barton look bad.

1. The Ubiquitous Scarf
Dear Lil Wayne, Kirsten and Pete, Please put the scarf down and walk away. And that goes for the rest of you, too.
