I had the flight from hell yesterday.
It was actually two (perhaps 2.5) flights from hell.
It started out with leaving my Long Beach hotel at 6 am to catch an 8:15 am flight – only to discover it was overbooked, and almost be bumped. I then arrive for my connecting flight – in Chicago – with ten minutes to get to my next flight in time for boarding. (Of course, this said being O’Hare airport is a small city.)
I get to my flight – in time! – and we board…only to have delays because of power issues at the front of …read more

It’s plain and simple… I don’t even have to think about this one. You would think that because laptops are soooo small, they shouldn’t weight a ton to carry with you around an airport. Just not the case. And then I spotted this! Available in a variety of colors but seeing that Christmas is right around the corner I thought that I would feature red!

Just arrived about a half hour ago and have unpacked and little else. But I will be here for a week, so I will be doing a bit of checking around to see what Chicago is like for shopping. We are heading out in a few minutes just to take a look around, and will check in later this afternoon. Stay tuned.
And then there are the restaurants… I hear that the food is amazing. First on the list if I have my way is an authentic Chicago deep dish pizza. Be back later
Today’s Shopping Tip – Shopping While on Vacation

If you are vacationing in a spot where your plug-in gadgets require a special adapter, I highly advise simply buying a gadget that will work in that particular country. On a previous trip to England, I packed the adapter that was supposed to protect my hair dryer, but instead completely ruined it. On this vacation, I decided to by a 5 pound blower brush to dry and straighten my hair. If the hair dryer was complete garbage, it would only have set me back about $10.00. Surprisingly, it did a better job than the one that I left at …read more

Had an amazing time, but it will take a little while to get over the time change. As it is, I’ve been wide awake since 4 a.m. but it shouldn’t take me too long to get back to normal. Can’t wait to begin shopping for Christmas. As it is, I still have a few days left before Halloween. Off for ANOTHER cup of coffee to keep these eyelids open. Not sleepy, but physically exhausted. Should be back later today with some goodies.

I love these tags. Have you noticed (of course you have) how just about every piece of luggage looks the same on the conveyor belt. It seems that nobody wants lime green cases?? Anyway, with these tags, someone will have a laugh and not walk away with yours…

Yes, I’m thinking Christmas again and stuff that I could get for Jamie. I know that he has an electric razor, but when he lived at home, he did use a disposable one as well. I think that this looks a lot nicer and probably would do a much better job.
I can still remember the first razor I bought for him when he was about six. He spent so much time in the bathroom “shaving” with his dad! They grow up so fast. At the moment he’s in Cuba on vacation. Now I’m a little upset about that I …read more
