Top 5 Things I Need For My Garden

It’s been eight days and I’m just itching to get outside and into the garden. As for shopping… yes, I’m missing that too. I went out for the first time on Sunday and lasted about a half hour and then all I did was pick up cleaning supplies. I must be sick!! Anyway lets get onto my list…

1. I’m going to invest in rose gloves. As hard as you will try, trust me, you are going to scratch yourself and rose thorns hurt… big time. On another topic, I just found the most gorgeous bath scrub that you can make out of some oatmeal, dried rose petals, dried thyme and some dried grated orange peel. Now I think that I can handle that!! I just might have to plant a couple more rose bushes too! I think that I had better stock up on regular gardening gloves too. I hate soil under my nails. Just looks nasty.

2. I’m going to learn to be organized. I know that I have gardening tools in this house somewhere, but I haven’t a clue where. Okay, I’m going to blame it on the fact that we moved last year… okay two years ago, but we didn’t have a garden last year. Now a tool caddy just might come in handy and if I can hang it up somewhere… even better.

3. Gets some shoes just for gardening in. I want something that I can just slip my feet into and then kick them off when I come back in the house. I had a pair last year and I certainly got my moneys worth. I wore them everywhere and they are starting to show it.

4. Some sort of storage system for the garage. I just finished repotting a plant in the kitchen and I made one huge mess… and I was trying to be soooo careful. And then there was all the lugging I had to do from the garage into the house. Makes more sense to create a gardening center in one corner.

5. Maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to do some reading while I’m planning my next garden. I really love roses, but there must be so many things that I’m doing wrong. I am going to need lots of blooms if I want to make that bath scrub.
