After this weekend, I won’t be home very much for about a month – I’m going on a cruise launch in a few days, and then I’ll be in China until Thanksgiving.
There’s something about traveling – even when your laptop and major credit cards are coming with you – that make you want to be ultra-prepared before you leave. A few weeks ago, I had dinner with some of the AJWright team, and we discussed their concept of off-price retail.
It was one I am familiar with: I had flown out to Boston last fall to have a similar meeting with TJX (TJMaxx/Marshalls, of which AJWright is a family member) and learned a lot – about how their buyers get the deals, and just how far the deals can take you. Last night, the incredible people at Avon, a company committed to empowering women, invited me to share a precious moment with them – we went to an exclusive screening of the upcoming movie, Precious.

About a year ago, I was at a bar – of all places – and saw a friend’s shoes. She revealed to me they were from a line named Melissa, and beside being crazy adorable, they were like NOBLE.
