Trend Alert: Jeggings

I got an email earlier today introducing me to “jeggings” and I immediately giggled…I loved the name so much, I almost didn’t even need to look further.
But they are actually pretty darn cool. Essentially, they are inspired by the hot denim trend that has been hitting runways in preparation for the fall season – it’s part jeans, part leggings – both of which are huge this season, and part of the larger leaning toward sleek, slim, and streamlined.

Ben Taverniti, head denim designer for Hudson Jeans, says “The jegging is a fashion essential this season because it provides the comfort of the legging and chic design of the jean. It’s something that is very easy to wear and goes with anything in your closet.”
The great thing about jeggings is that they can be worn “high” or “low”, as in – with sneakers or heels – or whatever, which makes them fit the inner desire I always have to make outfits work from day until night.
Let it be said, I like this trend WAY WAY better than that awful wide-legged balloon pant look from last season.
