Marion Cotillard Conquers A Tough Pattern

I don’t know how she does it, but Marion Cotillard continues to impress me. Here she is on the red carpet for the Los Angeles Premiere of “Public Enemies” at the 2009 Los Angeles Film Festival and I’m envisioning all the ways such a busy pattern could have gone wrong – but not here.

The stained glass effect could look cheesy. It might also end up making a less trim figure look a teensy bit bulky. But the way the fabric has been shaped and stitched into a beautifully snug fit…it’s simply divine.

On top of that, her hair and makeup is elegant, refined and dare I say reminiscent of icons like Audrey Hepburn. Sure, the red carpet these days may not look quite as glamorous with a big neon DELI sign hovering in the background, but Marion is a model for how to project classy under any and all circumstances.
