Snarkstress Picks for 2009 SAG Award HITS

Along with the 2009 SAG Award Red Carpet FLOPS, there were some HITS too. Overall, I wasn’t impressed with the dresses that were showcased this year, but there were a few that stuck out to me.
Here are my picks for the 2009 SAG Award HITS.
Penelope Cruz – You usually can’t go wrong with black on the red carpet and Penelope looks amazing in this dress! I love the halter style to the dress and how it shows off her back and shoulders. Just gorgeous!
Anne Hathaway – I like how Anne wore something that fits her body. It shows off her great figure and the bling on her waist and neckline just make her sparkle. (Her hair on the other hand is not looking too hot!)
Marcia Cross – Wow, I love the black and dark blue combination on this dress. It compliments Marcia’s red hair and pale skin. The bunching of the fabric at the bottom of the dress gives this dress something to talk about. I like how it is fitting at the top and still shows off her great curves. Anyone who has had twins and looks like THAT should show off their bod!
Kate Winslet – Kate Winslet shows off her curves in this blue number. She recently revealed that her exercise routine consists of 20 minutes of Pilates. She looks beautiful in this color and the style is very attractive. She’s just glowing!

I loved Anne Hathaway’s look and Penelope Cruz’ dress is very classy. But, although many people adore that Kate Winslet dress, I can’t stand it. I don’t think it does much for her body – it makes her hips look wide, her waist look thick and she looks like she needs a better bra. haha I normally like her so much that I was disappointed.
I’m not too crazy about Kate’s dress either. On the one hand I love the color on her and the top part looks great & flattering. The bottom of the dress, from the waist down, looks…. just off, I guess. With the seem in the front and the fact that it changes into another fabric. No, not convinced. My favourite of these choices: def. Marcia, although it could have done with a bit more blue and less black.
I agree that the bottom part of the dress makes her look wide, but I think it was the color and the neckline that I likes. And, I am on a “I love everything Kate Winslet does, says and wears” kick. She is on fire! lol
