Statue of Keira

Okay, I think it goes without saying that I’m as American as you’re going to get. I mean my real name is Liberty, after all (still trying to get permission to sign my checks as The Snarkstress, sigh.) And I feel all warm and fuzzy knowing that Ms. Knightley is trying to show her vast appreciation for American Box Office Consumerism, I really do. But isn’t channeling the great Statue of Liberty overdoing it a tad? Just a smidge?
When I saw this pic, my first thought was “Give this girl a torch and a gigantic book and she’ll be all set.” Wait, that was my second thought. My first was “Give this girl a good ‘ol American Extra Mega Super-Size Value Meal.” But still. You get what I’m saying. This is Lady Liberty all the way, don’t you agree, dahlings?
The American love is touching, Keira, but I think your stylist had a few too many Manhattans when she approved this outfit for you. Next time, just slap on an “I *heart* New York” t-shirt and call it good, mm-kay?
