Designer dress…gorgeous. Charlize Theron…gorgeous. Put the two together and somehow…NOT gorgeous.
I can’t exactly put my finger on it, but I just really don’t like this look for Charlize on the red carpet for the screening of The Road in Hollywood. Usually she goes for a classic look and is STUNNING, but somehow the combination of the dark lipstick, nude eyes, and a frazzled attempt at Old Hollywood style glamour waves just are not working. I also have a huge problem with her sandals…I fully support a tall skinny woman wearing flats, but these are waaaay too casual for her dress.

Remember when Charlize Theron wow’d us all with her ability to transform into a gross criminal only to emerge a mere few months later re-vixenized, glowing and gorgeous?
Is this a similar ploy? This time, Charlize will disappoint us by attending Parisian film premieres swathed in gold lame…but then in a couple seasons she will be setting trends and be at the top of her fashion game again?
I don’t understand how someone so stunningly attractive could ruin her natural good looks with a horribly trendy haircut and a bunchy gold lame minidress.

Aside from not having ink up and down her every square inch of skin, Charlize Theron looks to be taking on a Kat Von D-esque bad girl image…and it’s just not working.
This corset thingie is dreadful, dahlings, and the shoes are wretched as well. Charlize has always been a classic beauty in Hollywood, and this look is as far from her usual elegance and grace as could be. Blech.
