Though I can appreciate Ciara‘s new hair extensions and relaxed smile, I don’t much care for her bright pants and latest pair of ridiculous shoes. What is with Ciara and these heels that look more painful than beautiful? Does the girl not own a simple pair of flip flops? Regular Snarkstress readers know that Ciara and I don’t usually get along. She has horrified me with trashy dresses, ugly harem pants and her latest blunder…strappy Barney purple wedges.
But this is a nice change for the 2009 BET Awards. Simple makeup, soft hair, and a tight dress that covers all the goods but leaves plenty for the imagination to toy with. I don’t know if these particular baby pink Louboutins would have been my choice, but it works for her and I’m delighted that the word ‘lady’ actually comes to mind.

I don’t know where Ciara got these shoes, or what possessed her to make the purchase, but they have got to be the most unflattering interpretation of the gladiator sandal trend I have scene yet. Too many straps, too purple, too clunky, too many things wrong all at once.

Have you ever seen ads for that TLC show where the woman has abnormally massive legs? Some disease has caused her legs to be ridiculously large, the appearance made even more astounding by how tiny her upper body is.
An outfit should not inspire such comparisons. But alas, Ciara’s oversized, puffy pants at the 2009 Smile Event presented by Operation Smile, does just that. Looking like something right out of Star Trek, Ciara emerged from Bungalow 8 in London all smiles, hair extensions and heavy eyeliner.
While the dress is not my favorite, I can’t really condemn her too much for it. Yes, it looks sloppy, like it doesn’t quite fit on top and the skirt is far too short and the shoes just end up making her otherwise super athletic legs look stumpy and her feet look uncomfortably constrained instead of supported.
But it’s really the back of the dress (or lack thereof) which bothers me.
