Sienna Miller At LA Premiere of G.I. Joe

Sienna Miller At LA Premiere of G.I. Joe

Lately I have been rather tough on Sienna Miller. She has disappointed with ugly pants and hideous patterns. But this old Hollywood inspired gold gown for the Hollywood premiere of G.I. Joe is gorgeous. Reminiscent of the canary yellow gown that really elevated Michelle Williams from Dawson’s Creek to Hollywood Starlet at the Oscars a few years ago, this is a long overdue improvement for Sienna’s typical miniskirts and mod shapes.
Well done, Sienna – everything from the soft waves to the burgandy lips is polished and perfect for this event. Lets hope we continue to see more of the same, …read more

Sienna Miller Shines. But Not The Good Way.

Um, Sienna – Elton John would like his pantsuit back, please. I mean really…did you put this on and think that you could some how pull off such an overly sequined ensemble and not have a few raised eyebrows pointed your way? Even Rihanna might have stood half a chance off making this work…but you, honey…you’re a cute little sunkissed blonde who would do better to stick with miniskirts and girly details than to continue attempting to wow us with your high fashion (or just high shine?) prowess.
The stylist who told you this was a good decision should be banned …read more

Aubrey O’Day Might Just Fall Over

It never ceases to amaze me how one woman can find the ugliest dresses available for very public events, when there are plenty of at least half decent looking options available most anywhere.
Here is Aubrey O’Day, once again, proving to me that she has no idea what the word “understated” even means. Sure, a little asymmetrical flop of fabric for the Los Angeles premiere of Transformers never hurt anyone…
That is unless the amount of fabric looks like it could cause a girl to to topple over. Or start leaning to one side to try to compensate for the extra strain …read more

Marion Cotillard Conquers A Tough Pattern

I don’t know how she does it, but Marion Cotillard continues to impress me. Here she is on the red carpet for the Los Angeles Premiere of “Public Enemies” at the 2009 Los Angeles Film Festival and I’m envisioning all the ways such a busy pattern could have gone wrong – but not here.
The stained glass effect could look cheesy. It might also end up making a less trim figure look a teensy bit bulky. But the way the fabric has been shaped and stitched into a beautifully snug fit…it’s simply divine.
On top of that, her hair and makeup is …read more

Lydia Hearst Sparkles At NYC Film Premiere

Lydia Hearst chose a sparkly little minidress for the New York film premiere of “The Last International Playboy”. Glamorous and cheeky all at the same time, this is not an easy neckline to pull off but she’s working in without breaking a sweat.
The hair and makeup is divine; I appreciate the focus on smokey eyes and a simple, sleek center part for such a vibrant outfit. Anything more complex and Lydia might have ended up looking like a showgirl.
Now, the lime green shoes I do take issue with. They seem to bring the whole look to a less mature finish, …read more

Rose McGowan Used To Be So Cute

What happened? Where did sultry, sexy Rose McGowan go -and who is this awkward looking, plastic mess in her place?
Rose McGowan is tottering down the red carpet for the premiere of Terminator Salvation (yummy! Christian Bale!). But you would never know she was once a reasonable accomplished…or at least well known…okay, maybe reasonably well know…actress.
No, this pale prize is a greasy haired shell of her former super hot self. The shoes and the dress have no business being together – and really, neither does anything for Rose individually either. It’s all too frilly, too filmy, too not-at-all-something Rose should have …read more

When Did Ryan Reynolds Get This Hot?

Did I miss a beat and neglect to notice how adorably handsome Ryan Reynolds is these days? This is how you do charmingly disheveled hair. And ever so slight 5 o’clock stubble. And vest. And pocket watch.
That’s right – a pocketwatch. Beautiful chain hanging out as if to say, “You folks may be able to pick up a vest similar to this – but not as nice – at Urban Outfitters. But I don’t think you have a pocketwatch and I do. It’s remarkable and it’s all mine.”
Fine, maybe Ryan Reynolds doesn’t spend that much time pontificating about how …read more

Patricia Clarkson’s Tribeca Dress Flopper

I can see it now. Not how Patricia Clarkson fell for such an unattractive dress to wear to the ‘Whatever Works’ premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. But how this dress came to be in the first place.
A fashion student gets all flustered and conflicted about where to take the dress design. Everyone keeps saying ‘fringe’ but that seems so not what the dress needs although maybe if it was just added in patches that wouldn’t be such a bad and that would appease the class. Who says you can’t have the best of both worlds? It’s satin class and …read more

Anna Faris Pulls a Vegas For Film Premiere

Anna Faris is a lovely girl, though I wish she would tone down the tan and bright blonde hair. It’s just so obvious and fake Hollywood – you can do better.
But this dress, worn for the premiere of Observe and Repor in Los Angeles is too much. Or is it not enough? Either way, it reminds me of the dresses you see in overpriced boutiques in Las Vegas that cater to pampered mistresses and upscale hookers. As adorable as you are, Anna – this dress isn’t for pretty young actresses, it’s for trampy girls in Vegas looking to find a …read more

Reese Witherspoon Needs A Tailor

Reese Witherspoon Needs A Tailor

There’s so much to love about this dress Reese Witherspoon is wearing at the Monster’s vs Aliens premiere, except the fact that the fabric is bunching in all the wrong places around her chest and the skirt is hanging on her hips like a loose paper bag.
A flattering color and shape, a fashionable actress look does not make. You need a tailor, someone who knows your figure and can take a garment off the rack and make it look like it was personally created by the designer just for you. It doesn’t take much time and will make your entire …read more
