I liked it better when I thought Leighton Meester was a real life version of Blair Waldorf.  But when she makes raunchy music videos, has rumors of sex tapes, and dresses like a classy stripper when attending events, I just get really disappointed.  Why can’t she be more classy in real life?

Sometimes I find the wardrobe staff for Gossip Girl just utterly confusing.  Most of the time they are geniuses and are able to outfit Blaire and Serena in amazing designer pieces that are edgy, unique, and trendsetting…and other times they are just completely offensive with their display of scantily clad high school girls (yes I’m partially referring to Serena’s cleavage that was front and center for the second half of last season)!

I definitely applaud Leighton Meester for the concept of “go big or go home.”  She really goes all out with her fashion choices, so she either looks completely show-stoppingly gorgeous or she looks like a big ole mess.  At the 61st Primetime Emmys I’m going to go with big ole mess.

You would think after a few seasons on the set of Gossip Girl, Jessica Szohr might have picked up a few thoughts of her own when it comes to personal style. Aren’t these two such a lovely pair? It is nice to see a Gossip Girl couple sauntering around town in style. Yes, Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr are prime examples of how to look stylish but not too trendy -his casual black shirt, her pretty little Ash & Dans brooch headband perched up on her brow…it’s just so nice to see.
That is, until I noticed one glaring misstep in Miss Szohr’s decisions.

Alright, this is a big improvement since the last time I noticed blonde Leighton Meester around town.
I don’t love the way this dress is detailed with all the flaps of fabric, but it’s still quite cute on her and certainly one of the more stylish choices for the MTV Movie Awards. The dark eye makeup is fantastic and hint of blush makes her look like the happiest little actress in the world.
