Now, I still think she looks a little pale and gaunt – but the more playful, bouncy hair is so nice to see. Please, Katie – stop it with the messy chin length haircut. Grow it out or buy some quality extensions and take a few years off your face, m’kay?

But this has gone on far enough with Katie Holmes. Denim shorts? Plaid shirt? Horrible cankle inducing gladiator sandals. Dear Katie, you can do so much better than this. Your outfit, plus every pair of ‘boyfriend jeans’ you own – they are HORRIBLE – must be ripped up and never seen again. It’s not hard to do casual right. But this whole look, in combination with your sallow complexion and scruffy haircut is just a disaster.

While I would hate to break this down to net worth, you are not fooling anyone. We know you can afford a decent stylist, Katie. So make it happen. Stop torturing me with tomboy concoctions like this one and find a shirt that fits and pants that flatter.

Wow, all I can say is that it’s great to have the old chic and elegant Katie Holmes back. Doesn’t she look fab here (particularly for a jaunt to the playground)?

I have just one question, though: Why does it always look like Kate is dressed for sub-zero temps while poor Suri always seems to be out in short sleeves? Something to ponder, for sure. Any theories are most welcome…

Okay, let me put it this way: Am I the only one who is being assaulted with Christina Aguilera’s “Genie in a Bottle” as background music in their damn mind? I can’t be. I know I can’t be.

What has happened to our once fabulous Katie Holmes? I think someone needs to get her on the horn with Posh, STAT! This girl needs a style overhaul that only the poshest of Poshes can handle. Seriously, this is an emergency!

Such sadness for a Friday. It’s just not right to end the week like this. Must search for someone who knows how to put an outfit together…

Katie Holmes out in NYC

I’m beginning to think that the fashion capital of the freaking world, New York City, is seriously lacking in the celebrity stylist department. Because how else can you explain the raging transformation of our once-fabulous Katie Holmes?

Once upon a time, Mrs. Cruise would’ve been on the right track with her upper half (I do love her gloves, bag, sunnies and jacket), but she has gone and ruined the whole thing with her selection of (once again) gigantor jeans. WTF?!? The Katie we used to know and love would’ve totally rocked a houndstooth pencil skirt with this look or even a simple black pant. But the denim bells? Egads!

I realize that “theatah” folks get all artsy and what not, but geez. Is there not room in Kate’s life for high fashion anymore? Puh-leeze. Girl needs to step out of the theater district for a sec and hit 5th Avenue – preferably with her AmEx Black Card.

There’s a whole lot of dark clothing going on for the Cruises, but Gawddamn, it’s so good to see them out together (seriously, how many times do we all need to see Katie walking to rehearsals or playing on the playground with Suri?) that I almost don’t care. Plus, they look hot.

I’m not sure what the double-breasted jacket’s all about on Katie, but the 3/4-length sleeves save it from looking like a 1990’s throwback. The shoes are hot, and though the bag is simple, I totally dig it. The only thing I wish is that this girl would freaking smile one in a while. Seriously. Life is good, no, Katie? Then f***ing show some teeth. Cripe.

So, Katie Holmes has a new ‘do, eh loves? Apparently, this news is so important even small-town newspapers found it worthy of running on their pages. Huh. I wonder why my snarky new ‘fros never make it into the papers?

Katie Holmes Out in NYC

Hey look, everyone! It’s Katie Holmes. Haven’t seen a whole lot of her lately, have we? It’s good to get a gander (even though she’s minus her peeps here.)

But, wait! Just what to my snarky eyes should appear, but….leggings?!? And wait again! Are those leggings spandex?!? (Some photos I’ve seen have indicated there is some major sheen to these little ditties!) Gah!!!

Now, word is that Kate was leaving rehearsals for her Broadway gig, so I am hoping that little factoid accounts for this hellacious fashion choice. I mean leggings are bad enough. Flashdance-inspired spandex is even worse. And alas, I shall bitch some more by noting that these leggings are hitting her at the widest part of her calves, making them appear, well, thick. And we all know Mrs. Cruise is not thick.

So anyhoo, Kate. Great to see you out and about, love, but would definitely prefer to see you sans the dreadful leggings next time, eh? It’s only right.

A couple new pics of the lovely Katie Holmes (seen, of course, with hubby Tom Cruise and daughter Suri) surfaced o’er the weekend, thereby signaling loud and clear why Katie is winning in the Fashion Icon poll in the right sidebar of this fabulous blog. (Uh, you have voted already, right? If not, dammit, get voting!)

Yanno dahlings, as much as my snarky self loves glitz and flash and funk, I also adore classic elegance to the enth degree. And that is something Mrs. Cruise does so. damn. well. She’s sleek, yet real; glamorous, yet reachable. I’ve completely fallen for Katie’s style (though, in my always-perfect opinion, it would be fabby if she smiled a bit more often, but hey).

And while we’re at it, may I take a moment to mention that Tommy totally looks great, too? Love the messy hair. Very fun for him and waaaay better than the toddler-esque ‘do from a couple months back, no?

So anyhoo, congrats, Katie, on holding on to the top spot of the Snarkstress Fashion Icon poll. I’m going to leave that puppy open for another few days or so, then officially declare a winner. Reese, my love, you have a little catching up to do….
