What I do love are those Louboutin shoes peaking out from under those hideous pants. They give me hope. Let’s scrap everything else, darling – keep the shoes and rebuild this outfit from the ground up for another day.

Why is her date wearing a wee little scarf with that button up black shirt? I don’t even know who that is, nor do I particularly care, but my goodness that scarf is more obnoxious than most male fashion faux pas you see these days. Take off the scarf, he’s actually rather handsome. But with that little accessory hanging around his neck, the whole thing falls to pieces.

[Sidenote: It's always such a shame when a cute skirt wrinkles that badly on the way over. Limos should come equipped with a steam press for such occasions.]

But what exactly is the aesthetic Keri Hilson is looking for her? Is this out of edgy popstar 101?

There is something so ‘done’  and faux punk about this look. Everything from the animal print jacket to the ripped jeans and the sneakers. Like it’s the kind of throw away persona given to baby popstars who aren’t destined for Britney Spears-dom, but might get a song on the radio.

Keri, you’re going to have to find a way to stand out more (and make your way to the Wet Seal front door) if you’re going to make it in this business. Fire everyone who has manufactured this whole setup and start from scratch. We will all be better off.

Here is Jessica, singing her heart out at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre just outside of San Diego. It’s not the fact that the shirt is form-fitting and the shorts are tight that is disappointing here. That’s typical for  on stage performances. If you compare this look to what Britney Spears is wearing on tour these days, well…Brit’s dressing like a stripper.

But Jessica is dressing like a frumpy, chubby teenager. The shirt looks cheap, the jacket is ugly and the shorts are just a sad, sad choice for anyone who isn’t awkwardly 16 years old and walking to the general store for an ice cream. And that girl wouldn’t be wearing stripper heels (Jess got one part of the erotic dancer ensemble correct), she would be wearing flip flops. Which would make the unfortunate thigh brushing and bunching less of a problem.

But then, there must still be something about Jessica – at least judging from how her guitarist is checking out what’s going on in those cutoffs from the rear.

Honey the dress is almost cute, and I though I think your weave has seen better days…I get where you’re going here. But even yellow eyeshadow would be questionable. I could see this streak of heinous a mile back and I’m not getting over it anytime soon.

Is this a rebellion thing? I won’t bring up big sister B’s name, but you know there’s a reason why she’s still a big deal…she doesn’t put lemon colored goo on her face.

Don’t let little sister syndrome bring you down, Solange – find your style…but don’t take a generic MAC ad or crazy runway look as a jumping off point. It just so isn’t you.
