You know, I was just starting to give up on the whole international scene of young actresses. Then I happened upon the positively stunning Elsa Pataky, looking all sparkly and sexy/demure at the Karl Lagerfeld Fall Winter 2009-2010 Ready-to-Wear collection show in Paris. I have nightmares about shoulder pads making a comeback.
It’s not completely clear to me why my fashion fears are centered so fully on shoulder pads, but the thought of women climbing the corporate ladder one shoulder pad and tapered pant leg at a time…terrifies me. And yet somehow the worst possible incarnation of shoulder pads made an appearance during the Dolce and Gabbana Fall 2009 Collection Fashion Show.

This is so unfair.
I worked so hard to get here, and I’m the jerk to has to wear this stupid mesh helmet. My head looks like it’s stuck in a one of those hamster ball things and I’m supposed to look pensive and androgynous?
Come on…even Natasha’s outfit with the zipper up her nose isn’t this bad.
