The clothes. The shoes. The accessories. Good lord, they are divine. It’s reason enough to sit through the cornball lines and halfbaked conflict – let’s all just take a minute to remember when Carrie first opened the door to her new closet. I’m pretty sure every single fashion hungry Aidan lover out there switched teams and started rooting for Big.

Of course for anyone who doesn’t want to relive the eighties, a cold shiver might just run down your spine when you see Carrie decked out in a perm, white jeans and a sweatshirt. Sassy.

While I remain disappointed in SJP’s outfit for Mary Stuart, the ensemble she has put together for the premiere of Wonderful World at the Tribeca Film Festival is much better. Best of all are those positively divine Christian Louboutin heels she has on. If there was ever any way two girls who couldn’t be more different might bond…it’s over Louboutins.

Yes indeed, SJP might still be able to pull out a classic outfit on occassion. I do wish she would find a hair color that wasn’t so wishy-washy…especially considering she used to be (still is?) a spokesmodel for Garnier. But, I would rather see naturally mousy hair than overprocessed limp locks. So overall, this is a win, Sarah Jessica.

Would Ferris Bueller wear a bowtie? No. Not in 1986, not in 2009. Matthew Broderick and his mutton chops look like they would rather be anywhere but at the Opening Night of the Broadway play Mary Stuart in New York City.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s outfit doesn’t really fare any better. The shoes are beautiful and sure, pearls are nice. But when your career rests on film versions of a television show that hasn’t been on in years…and your current claim to fame is around being a fashion icon…ensembles such as this do you no favors.

There is a disconnect, dear Brodericks. Clearly a few unresolved issues are permeating the air around you two. Screw fashion with it’s pearls, bowties and bespoke suits…just for a minute. What you two need is a little dedicated relaxation time playing Scrabble in sweatpants.

Should we start with the shoes?I believe we already covered that this month (Say No to Gladiator Sandals, Please)! I really hope we don’t have to prepare ourselves to see more of these hideous things.

The Gloves. Well, gloves here and there can look classy, but paired with snake skin? There’s only one direction you can take with that one. And the bling bangles? Please, this might even be worse than the gloves. If she were to wear them alone it would have been a little better, but together is just a disaster waiting to happen!

The Dress. Did you swallow a snake and come out the other end? (Friend of mine added that special touch). Seriously though, can we please stay away and never return to animal skins ever again? Like the Zebra, Snake and Leopard? There is no reason for anyone to be wearing those things. To top it off, her lovely neck piece – a boa. Yes…the boa constrictor is wearing a boa.

The kicker… A huge smile on her face. What, you think you look good? Take a picture of me, I’m Carrie Bradshaw.

I like the shimmer, I like the funky shoes, and I like the big ‘ol hair. Thankfully, girl’s making some decent strides lately and my snarky self approves.

The dress is exceptionally gorgeous, her hair is down and wavy (rather pulled back so hard she has an insti-face lift, which she has been known to do far too often) and her makeup and accessories are right on. After this disaster, anything would look great, but she truly is fab here. Carrie would be proud.

Well glory be, Sex and the City sweetie, Sarah Jessica Parker, was good enough to closet her freak-out gear for a recent trip to the Late Show with David Letterman. Can I get a Thank Gawd for that one?

However, dahlings, you might note that she still didn’t look a whole damn lot better heading into the Late Show studio, pre-interview. I mean, just WTF is she pulling with the one cuff gig? Gah! And the shoes? Double gah! This look belongs in the trash right next to the forestwear.

After the interview, however, SJP’s stock went up, and I really think she looked fantastic. Love the monochromatic business on itty bitty girls, and black’s obviously a great choice to add a little height . I also adore the sexiness of the strapless top peeking out from under the coat. Aside from the swallowed-up-by-her-pants left foot, a big Snarkstress Seal of Approval here.

So dahlings, what have we learned from the photos shown here? We’ve learned that stylists are indeed worth their weight in Prada and that before and after photos are Gawd’s gift to fashion critics.

Oh my Gawd, is she for real? Seriously. She put on that fabulous dress, applied her makeup flawlessly, and then she’s going to go and f*** the whole thing up with that forest re-creation on her melon? Oh, SJP. What in the hell are you smoking, love? Double oy.
