Ciara And Her Hair Extensions Go Shopping

Though I can appreciate Ciara‘s new hair extensions and relaxed smile, I don’t much care for her bright pants and latest pair of ridiculous shoes. What is with Ciara and these heels that look more painful than beautiful? Does the girl not own a simple pair of flip flops? Or even (and it pains me to say this) some at least trendy and comfortable looking gladiator sandals?

But the most disappointing part of this Intermix shopping excursion she is currently engaged in? The accessory puppy. I can’t stand the women who shop with their dogs, regardless of if that woman happens to be an international pop star or just a foofy overly manicured rich housewife. Or a poor housewife for that matter.

Take your puppy to the park, not a shopping mall, m’kay?

Lindsay Lohan Goes Back To Blonde

I’m not sure if I’m more surprised to see Lindsay Lohan back as a bottle blonde or hear that she actually has acting work and will be starring in a feature film with Robert De Niro. Either way, it’s quite a change for Lohan, though what hasn’t changed is her attraction to sheer tops, ugly shoes, big sunglasses and purses that remind everyone around her of just how big of a celebrity she is (or so she thinks).

What are the odds that this new movie will be a flop? Have we started taking bets yet? Tough to tell, but if Lohan looks this groggy after getting her hair done and doing a little shopping, I imagine she’ll have some difficulties keeping up on set.

Not that her past behaviour is any indication of whether or not Lohan will misbehave while filming.

Halle Berry’s Oversize Shirt Overwhelms Her

Oh if only this shirt was a size smaller, had a neater hemline and wasn’t situated on top of a black pencil skirt. I would expect even on a trip out to pick up flowers at Bristol Farms, Halle Berry would still consider these things. I mean, don’t you?

But unfortunately the oversize shirt and work skirt have met and truth be told they are not playing nice. It looks as though she was on her way to a secretarial job, spilled some coffee on the work appropriate button up blouse she was previously wearing, and then a hippie offered her a replacement shirt made entirely of hemp.

There is nothing wrong with hemp. Nor is there anything wrong with secretarial duties. But when the two clash in the form of a style faux pas, it really is the worst of both worlds.

Kylie Minogue Sports Some Pajama Couture

Usually Kylie Minogue is one of my favorites, but I can’t find anything to like about her red and black ensemble she is wearing while shopping at Jean-Paul Gaultier. The way it flows down in the back while remains cropped in the front is baffling, unflattering and a wholely strange choice for petite little Kylie.

The necklace could be fabulous if there was more decolletage exposed instead of awkwardly falling onto the red shift shirt. It’s just such a shame when a powerful accessory doesn’t get properly incorporated into the right mix of fabric and style.

But on the bright side? Kylie’s shoes are adorable. I do hope they get to make an appearance in the future with an equally elegant outfit.

Katie Price’s Power Is Out And Mirrors Gone

What on earth is happening here, Katie Price? I’ve given you a lot of slack lately considering how much you’ve got going on in your life and how bad your sense of style has always been. It took a lot of time and effort, but I’ve forgiven you (mostly) for the equestrian clothing photoshoot travesty and do hope you’ve learned your lesson about how not to get out of a car when paparazzi are around.

But today is a new day, Katie…and this is ten steps back from slutty and teetering on full out catastrophe right here. You look like you’re doing the walk of shame after a late night out that ended with red wine on your blouse and blisters on your feet. Which then would explain why your skirt is so billowy while the shirt and shoes couldn’t be more out of place. If indeed you were simply going with what was laying around the couch you crashed on after passing out, well then…by all means walk the walk of shame with your head held high. But if instead this outfit took more than a milisecond of planning…

Well then, I’m beyond just a wee bit concerned.

Katy Perry’s Sexy Soho Shopping Spree

Is it a miracle? Has Katy Perry actually crossed the line back into the realm of pretty and forgotten her bizarre circus sideshow ways? I don’t want to get my hopes up or anything…but if this sexy little romper is any indication, Katy Perry is looking to forget all about fuzzy dice and floral pantsuits by actually wearing something the rest of us would consider purchasing.

Sure, the accessories are a bit chunky, her sunglasses wouldn’t work for everyone and even though we all could purchase an acid wash romper for our very own…most of us shouldn’t – this is a step in the right direction. I’m tentative about it all the same way Rihanna tends to make me hesitate but bottom line is compared to what she was wearing before, this is a monumental improvement.

Paris Hilton’s Hippie Dippy Shopping Wear

Would you even really know for sure that these two are sisters if they weren’t The Hiltons. I mean honestly, it would be hard to imagine them looking any different. Here is Nicky, all chic and understated for a Friday stroll through various boutiques in Hollywood. But right next to her is Paris, all hippie-d out and overly pink for day time. Make that any time.

As Paris has slid farther down the woe-begotten reality television path, and Nicky has stepped back more and more from the spotlight, I’ve grown to not mind the less outlandish sister. Sure, there is a bit of humor to be found in the antics of Paris, but the younger sister certainly has the end when it comes to including color in an outfit, instead of letting one color (oh, I don’t know…maybe baby pink?) overpower the outfit.

The Single Life Agrees With Rachel Hunter

Well, it looks like Rachel Hunter isn’t spending a spare second bemoaning the cancellation of her nuptials. The former supermodel was spotted on Robertson Blvd shopping at Intermix and giving a perky thumbs up when asked how she was coping after the abrupt breakup last month.

The proof is in her appearance – Rachel looks relaxed, happy and (thank goodness) less wrinkly than when we last discussed her overbaked skin.

Hopefully this is a trend that continues. I would love to see Rachel Hunter back to her old self, possibly as the face of some makeup product or even promoting her own perfume. Otherwise it just seems like such a waste of natural beauty and celebrity stature, no?

Does Avril Lavigne Look Pregnant?

Tongues are wagging about whether or not Avril Lavigne had a big pasta lunch or is carrying a new little punk rocker these days. Out shopping with a friend in Los Angeles, I have to agree it does look like there might be a baby bump hiding under her black tank top.

But enough about baby rumors…can we talk for a second about her makeup?

It’s a bit too over the top – just got a makeover at MAC – for me personally, but I have to admit I kind of like it on her. The hair looks good as well, especially now that she appears to finally be over the pink highlights phase.

As for the red lipstick, well…if all us ladies could perfectly apply and maintain red lips such as this, I think we’d see a real resurgence across North America. But since most of us wind up with pink teeth and a smudge under our noses, I don’t see such bold lipstick trends going mainstream anytime soon.

Maybe once personal hair and makeup artists are included in a standard benefits package, then we’ll talk.

Britney Spears Takes A Step Back

Hopefully last week’s surprise step up in the looks department from Ms. Britney Spears was not a fluke. Or a well played attempt to fool us into thinking that Britney really wants to grow out of her trashy roots and start taking care of her personal appearance…

Because this is a big step back, honey.

I don’t mean to nag you, Brit. But you seem like the kind of girl who could use a little routine and predictability in her life. While we all have days where baby pink boots and short shorts seem like a good idea (okay, I don’t. but clearly you do.), I think it’s safe to say in order to make the leap to full time put together popstar, you’re going to have to purge your closet of anything that even slightly resembles the days of K-Fed and Cheetos.

To put it plainly, Brit – throw out those boots and comb your hair.
