Yanno, dahlings, for the first time in a loooong time, I can’t find a single good thing to say about Mariah Carey’s look. Well, in this instance anyway.

Sure, I could blather on about how happy and fulfilled she looks, but since I have no interest in inducing a ralph session for all of you, I’ll stay away from the hearts and flowers. You’re welcome.

The problem here is that I think we’ve all been predisposed to the mega-flashy Mariah of late, and this sure as hell doesn’t measure up. First off, there’s not nearly as much skin as we’re used to. All I can assume is that she must have some majorly freaky rash to have covered up those stems like she did. I can’t remember the last time she wore a skirt or dress with hosiery. Seriously.

Next, where the flip are her accessories? Good Gawd, she needs a damn necklace or bling on the ‘ol upper body. Sheesh. (Since I just bought some similar, I do dig the nail polish, however.)

Finally, what happened to the power of some fabulous makeup? Give the woman some lips, already. If you’re going to be blah everywhere else, please, please, please put on a decent pair of lips. Gawd.

All in all, I am left halfway asleep here. This just ain’t the Mariah we’s all used to, yanno?

True, in most people’s world, dressing like this while sporting white-blond hair and bright-ass lips would equate to “Lady of the Night” status, but somehow when new mama Christina Aguilera does it, she earns herself Total Hot Mama status. Why is that?

Yanno loves, someone once told me that Christina can pull this off because she owns her hoochiness. And I totally agree with that. Girl knows who she is and the fact that she just pushed out a kid doesn’t change that fact at all. Plus, when you have a rack as outstanding as that, you can pull off this kind of stuff, yanno?

Katy Perry: Okay, we all know she kissed a girl and she liked it. But obviously, that girl wasn’t a stylist. Because this outfit is nothing short of WTF?!?

Seriously, now. I am so having some trippy flashbacks of Mary Ann from Gilligan’s Island. All we need are some pigtails and a coconut radio and it’s like Bob Denver could appear around any corner. Freaky, eh?

So my advice, Ms. Perry. Find a girl with Cherry Chapstick that also has good fashion sense and play a little tonsil hockey with her. Because next time I see a pic of you, I hope you are looking much, much fly-er, my girl. Mm-kay?

American Idol is nearing the end. Things are culminating into one giant battle of the Davids. Oh…and Paula Abdul showing her love of purple. Hm.

I am so, so mixed on this, dahlings. First off, a billion props to Paula for rocking out this light and misty purple. Pretty much the only purple on red (or in this case, blue) carpets these days is more jewel-toned, so it’s refreshing to see this sexy pastel-y shade on Paula.

I’ll also give my stamp of approval for the cut of this dress. Now, being a small person, I can attest to the fact that it’s often a struggle for petite chicks to find the right style and cut that won’t make their stems look like hamhocks or their torso seem minuscule. P’s done a great job on this, so hoorah for that.

However…

WTF is up with the black? Come on! You’re going to be all brave and wear this super light amethyst color and then go and put a black cummerbund and rounded-off black shoes with this? Geezus. And don’t even get me started on that whatever the hell that is on her arm.

Dammit, Paula. So. Freaking. Close. But, So. Freaking. Far. Away.

Now, if I had some scissors handy and could brazenly attack her from behind, the black would disappear and be replaced with a fabulous, shiny silver. Silver sandals, delicate silver bracelets, a funky silver ring. Not *bleep*ing black. Oy.

So wow, loves. All-around talented guy Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs has gone and earned himself a big, fat star on the famed Hollywood Walk of Fame. And while that’s great and all since the man sure as hell has earned it, I think what he really deserves is a star for the Best Damn Dressed.

Now some say Diddy’s all-white fetish is egotistical and obnoxious, but I think it’s spectacular. It’s part of his gig, his schtick if you will. And not only that, but it’s all kinds of hot. Newsflash, dahlings: The absolutely gorgeous, stunning, fabulous songbird, Leona Lewis, has apparently given up singing in exchange for a herding career. Damn. And I was totally digging her tunes.

Thankfully, she has decided to take herding high-fashion though, as seen here with her stilettos of choice. But let it be known that while I appreciate her effort, I still give her a giant “Nay” in the shoe department. Why? Well, though the shoes are purdy, they totally do not do a thing for her legs. Which is a crying shame.

Anyhoo, the dress is all wrong, too, so aside from her beautiful face and hair, this look is better off left baaa-aaack in the fields somewhere…to be eaten by sheep.

Dahlings, I can’t believe I just said “da bomb” publicly, but cripe. There’s just no other way I can describe Mariah Carey in this photo.

Sure, I’ve given her some shit about wearing clothing meant for tweens lately, but this is one dress that only a womanly woman could rock. She looks so utterly fantastic here, my snarky self is considering not eating for the next month or so. But that would mean I’d miss out on nacho night, and that just would never do. Not only that, but since I’m all a “role model” and shit, I guess that would be a bad thing for my young readers to hear, right? Or something.
