New York Fashion Week: Kellie Pickler

Extra, extra! It’s Fashion Week in New York City and former American Idol finalist Kellie Pickler was on hand for the festivities after having been attacked by a department store makeup counter facialist. What a trooper!

For the girl to step out even after being blushed to death, lipsticked to a bloody pulp and eyelashed from here to tomorrow is quite amazing. She must be one helluva fan of whatever designer she was seeing that day. I mean, for real.

Now, I must say that I totally dig this coat, but beyond that, the girl is a mess. The hair is much too slicked back and the makeup is so damn over the top I worry for those who were photographed with her. Gah!

Fashion Week is all about taking chances and “being seen” and Gawd knows this girl is achieving both of those things…though not in a good way. *shudder*

Pickler, take heed. There will be fashion and makeup mavens at every shoulder rub. Learn from them. Puh-leeze.

Coldplay’s Grammy Fashion Sense is So Not Hot

First off, allow me to give my super props to Coldplay on their multiple awards for the crazy-hot song Viva La Vida. Swear to Gawd, that is one of my favorite tunes evah and I’m totally stoked they got some fab recognition for it.

However…I must question the ridiculous fashion ensembles these crazy fools be wearing. Sure, I totally get that they’re quirky and what not, but honestly, I feel like I’m looking at an old photo of Menudo or something from back in the day. The bright colors are a bit wiggy even for those who tend to push the fashion envelope. They just look damn silly, if you ask me, and I’m thisclose to being embarrassed for them (except that I just don’t have the energy to be embarrassed for people who make crappy clothing choices. Seriously.)

So, yay on the awards, boo on the goofy getups. Coldplay, you’ve got a lot going fer ya. Now take some of that cash and hire thee a stylist! Puh-leeze!

Hello, Dahlings! It’s Me Again

Well now. Just when you thought you’d shaken me off for good, I’m baaaaack!

The oh-so-awesome Julie, who was in charge here for a bit while I was off being fabulous somewhere else, did a bang up job, did she not? But alas, I simply could not resist the allure of coming back, so here I is. What a thrill.

Seriously, I am so excited to be here. There is so much horrible celeb fashion going on out there, I can hardly contain myself. I hope you are feeling chatty because I’d love to start some lively discussions on just what is being worn out there in H-wood.

Of course, there is also plenty of great fashion, and we’ll take a look at some of that as well.

In any case, just wanted to let you know who’s behind the snark once again. Thanks to Julie for all her hard work over the last few months. You can find her over at ModelStalker.com, doing her thang. As for moi, I also write about makeup and other beauty type things over at MakeupMinute.com. Come visit me there if you simply can’t get enough of me here.

For now, grab a drink and get ready. I have some Grammy fashions to slam and I’d love some company while I do so. Care to join? Thought so.

To All Good Things, There Must Come an End…or Something

Portrait of young girl crying

My dahlings,

October marks about 15 months of little ‘ol me snarking on the poor, unsuspecting celebs of our world day in and day out. But alas, this shall be my final post. Please hold your applause.

While it was an excruciating decision to leave this baby of mine, it’s time to go, I suppose. Call it an attack of the conscious (pffft!), call it being short on time, call it whatever you want, I call it the end. Sadly enough.

I may come back every now and again simply because I’m honestly not sure how it’s going to go over, me keeping my opinions to myself and all, but I leave you in good hands. Julie Bonner, a total star celeb blogger in b5media-Land will be taking over and she’s totally up for the challenge. All will be well in this snarky lair, I promise.

I wish you all the best, including a life full of fabulous fashion and great hair days. If you’re ever not looking your best, just stay in. It’s simply not worth the embarrassment of being exposed.

Thanks to all of you for making this an incredible journey. I’ll miss you and this blog bunches.

Kiss, kiss -
The Snarkstress (aka Liberty)

P.S. If you just can’t get enough of me, you can still find me over at Teen Style Lounge on this channel, and you’ll find me dishing about all things Soap Operas at About.com. I’m also gearing up to launch my own beauty blog for preggies and new moms (and hell, whoever else wants to stop in) called (oh-so-fittingly) BeautySnark.com. There you’ll find beauty advice for real women who have real (and funny) beauty issues (wrinkles and zits at the same time, anyone?) Expect BeautySnark to be live in the next couple weeks, and please, stop by to visit.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are Blazing Hot this Halloween

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon

Well, leave it to Ms. Mariah Carey to take a perfectly good Halloween costume and slut it right up. But hey, that’s her M.O. and she owns it, so more power to her. Plus, you gotta admit, she looks damn hot!

Yanno, dahlings, bless any woman who has the cajones to appear in public like this (one who is not a paid stripper, that is). That takes some confidence, particularly if there are cupcakes and Doritos to be had at such an event. Mariah, you will never cease to blow my mind, girl. And that’s not an easy feat…

HAPPY HALLOWEEN, DAHLINGS!

No, This is NOT a Halloween Costume on Paris Hilton…

Paris Hilton

…it just looks like one!

Seriously, y’all. What in the hell is this look all about? I’ve seen her make some silly fashion mistakes in my day, but puh-leeze. And the fact that it is so unbelievably over-the-top matchy-matchy makes it that much worse.

Maybe she ought to bust this puppy back out tonight when she goes trick or treating. That seems like a more suitable place to sport this thing, wouldn’tja say?

Jessica Simpson Rocks the Glam Look

Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson Out in NYC

I know so many of y’all hate on poor Jessica Simpson, but as daffy as she is, I still mostly dig her. And I especially love when she ditches the hideous racing gear and country bumpkin threads in exchange for glamming her bad self out.

Love her or hate her, you must admit the girl’s a stunner here. Looks like she got her hair did and her makeup is nothing short of fab. She’s even got the pouty lip thang going. Add to it the sexy peep-toes, slinky dress and wrap and you’ve got one hot tamale. Mama Snarkstress totally approves. This is a look Jess should stick with, for sure. Agreed?

NKOTB’s Joe McIntyre’s Marf Look: Yay or Nay?

New Kids on the Block’s Joe McIntyre

Joe McIntyre from New Kids on the Block

Fresh from their Saturday concert which only served to reignite my passionate and insane obsession with the New Kids on the Block (laugh and I’ll poke your eye out with my stiletto), I found this pic of Joe Mc Intyre who is sporting the increasingly popular Marf (men’s scarf) look. Full disclosure: he wore the very same marf during the concert with a white outfit, so clearly he’s grooving on this fall/winter trend. Donnie Wahlberg sported one, too.

To me, these peeps can do no wrong (except for the fact that I had a backstage pass for the After Show and still didn’t get to meet them, but I digress…) so my question to you is: do you dig the marf look on guys? NKOTB or otherwise? Let me know in the comments below. I’ll be off boo-hooing that I missed the end of the concert for NOTHING! (It’s okay, fellas, I forgive you. But a kiss from Jordan would really make things all right…)
