Suri and Katie Both Looking Older

Ok so Suri is still cute as a button and only gets cuter everyday. But Katie seems to be aging much faster than her little one! The fresh-faced Dawson’s Creek star has suddenly transformed into a tired old soccer mom. I know that she’s a mother now, but she only has one youngster to take care of…Angelina seems to be able to look red carpet ready everyday and she has like ten little ones running circles around her! What has happened to poor Katie??? What happened to the young fashion icon who was always put together????

Here she is in Cambridge, Mass with her mother and Suri after stopping for cupcakes and pizza. Katie’s mom looks like a fashionable young Grandma, while Katie looks just completely disheveled and unhappy with tired eyes and armful of layers.

Katie Holmes: Please Grow Out Your Hair

If I could wish upon a star and make any one celebrity hair wish come true, it would be that Katie Holmes returns to her Joey Potter roots and grows her hair out again. Why she has decided to prematurely age herself with such a blunt (usually unkempt) bob, I have no idea. But the photos of her on set in Australia for her new film, Are You Afraid Of The Dark, are indicative of just how much of a difference long locks make in her case.

Now, I still think she looks a little pale and gaunt – but the more playful, bouncy hair is so nice to see. Please, Katie – stop it with the messy chin length haircut. Grow it out or buy some quality extensions and take a few years off your face, m’kay?

Wow, all I can say is that it’s great to have the old chic and elegant Katie Holmes back. Doesn’t she look fab here (particularly for a jaunt to the playground)?

I have just one question, though: Why does it always look like Kate is dressed for sub-zero temps while poor Suri always seems to be out in short sleeves? Something to ponder, for sure. Any theories are most welcome…

Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise and daughter Suri Cruise

A couple new pics of the lovely Katie Holmes (seen, of course, with hubby Tom Cruise and daughter Suri) surfaced o’er the weekend, thereby signaling loud and clear why Katie is winning in the Fashion Icon poll in the right sidebar of this fabulous blog. (Uh, you have voted already, right? If not, dammit, get voting!)

Yanno dahlings, as much as my snarky self loves glitz and flash and funk, I also adore classic elegance to the enth degree. And that is something Mrs. Cruise does so. damn. well. She’s sleek, yet real; glamorous, yet reachable. I’ve completely fallen for Katie’s style (though, in my always-perfect opinion, it would be fabby if she smiled a bit more often, but hey).

And while we’re at it, may I take a moment to mention that Tommy totally looks great, too? Love the messy hair. Very fun for him and waaaay better than the toddler-esque ‘do from a couple months back, no?

So anyhoo, congrats, Katie, on holding on to the top spot of the Snarkstress Fashion Icon poll. I’m going to leave that puppy open for another few days or so, then officially declare a winner. Reese, my love, you have a little catching up to do….
