I don’t know how it happened, but it’s official:  I am HOOKED on The Hills again!  Isn’t that sooo lame?  Or maybe that just reminds us how lame Lauren Conrad was…and now that she’s gone it’s easier to “like” the show.

I don’t even like The Hills yet, but there is already a possibility that I will be sucked in…it is just such a crazy cultural phenomenon that is really quite fascinating.  And I at least need to see what these chicks are wearing!

I was never a Lauren Conrad fan, so I’m suuuuper pumped that she left The Hills and they hired my fave Laguna Hills star Kristin Cavallari to replace her!  Yes I will admit that this is the absolute worst show on television and I hate myself for watching it, but come on!  Kristin Cavallari is back!  She is a billion times less boring than Lauren, and that’s all it takes to get me hooked.

Well here is a perfect example of what reality TV can do to a person:  The Hills has transformed Lauren Conrad from a natural California beach beauty to a fake plastic mannequin.  Here is Lauren at the debut of her LC Lauren Conrad line at Khol’s looking extremely scary.

When exactly is Whitney Port going to learn how to step it up on the red carpet? It seems like every time I turn around the girl is wearing a more heinous minidress than the day before. Each event is worse than the last one…with no sign of improvement what so ever.

Looking at new The Hills it girl Kristin Cavallari, seen here at the Nylon Magazine TV Issue Party…I kind of just want to fall asleep. She looks so disappointingly bored and disheveled that I can’t help but yawn and wish I were in my robe and slippers, clutching a warm mug of hot cocoa.

Usually the cliche ‘birds of a feather flock together’ is pretty accurate in Hollywood. When you are out at a club, you can easily tell who is partying with who based on what folks are wearing and the area of the room they are occupying.
But the girls of The Hills, out at Madame Royale for the evening, don’t seem to fit this pattern – most likely due to the fact that their friendship is entirely contrived and mapped out on an MTV storyboard. I anticipated that it wouldn’t be long before we saw Lauren Conrad out and about again – and I was right about that. Here she is celebrating the launch of her new novel “L.A. Candy” in a sweet little sheath dress and elegant black heels. Even though I may have grown tired of her occasionally obnoxious ways on The Hills, the girl is usually quite well put together. I might even think about picking up her book and I do think she has the best potential to do something with her life post-reality television.

Oh Heidi’s sister…you’ve made some bad decisions here. Fine, sure, cross the line between “non-reality TV show family member who just happens to show up in a few episodes” to “yes, I’m a full out reality TV show character, bow down, don’t you like my hair?”.

If there is one thing I like about this whole look Lauren Conrad is going for at the MTV Movie Awards, it’s those red lips. I just can’t get enough of strong red lips, so great choice there.
But the rest…
Lauren certainly has the figure for this dress. And the shoes are kind of naughty cute. But does she believe in this style? Is this really her? Hard to say anymore, but I suppose we’ll find out soon as she is no longer officially part of the MTV reality television bubble.
