Extra, extra! It’s Fashion Week in New York City and former American Idol finalist Kellie Pickler was on hand for the festivities after having been attacked by a department store makeup counter facialist. What a trooper!

For the girl to step out even after being blushed to death, lipsticked to a bloody pulp and eyelashed from here to tomorrow is quite amazing. She must be one helluva fan of whatever designer she was seeing that day. I mean, for real.

Now, I must say that I totally dig this coat, but beyond that, the girl is a mess. The hair is much too slicked back and the makeup is so damn over the top I worry for those who were photographed with her. Gah!

Fashion Week is all about taking chances and “being seen” and Gawd knows this girl is achieving both of those things…though not in a good way. *shudder*

Pickler, take heed. There will be fashion and makeup mavens at every shoulder rub. Learn from them. Puh-leeze.

Talk show host and supermodel Tyra Banks looks gorgeous as she arrives for a meeting in Soho. You all probably know by now that I have a thing for boots and I LOVE these boots! I wish I could get a closer look at them or maybe even snatch them off of her feet.

I don’t know what Tyra Banks is wearing under that coat, but it doesn’t really matter. She is rockin’ it in that coat, paired with her beautiful bag. She’s always giving style advice to the gals on America’s Next Top Model and I’d say she has the credentials to do so.

Kate Hudson and a friend headed to Pilates on January 3rd. Kate has been in New York promoting her new film “Bride Wars”, which looks hilarious by the way.

When I saw this picture of Kate Hudson, I immediately fell in love with her boots. I love that soft camel color and they look stunning with her white leggings. The buckle detail on the boots adds a little dimension to the shoe. (Her friend’s shoes on the other hand…blech.)

The only complaint I have about Kate’s outfit is that coat. It’s kind of, well, ugly if you ask me. I don’t like the design or the way it looks with the rest of her outfit. I am sure she has a ton of other coats that she could have chosen from that would have looked much better. But hey, she does look better heading to Pilates than I ever have! If someone tried to snap my picture when I was on the way to the gym, I would have to do one of those duck and cover moves.

Does Melanie Griffith’s outfit look weird to you or is it just me?! She mixes a totally glamorous leopard print coat with sneakers. Now I completely understand needing to wear sneakers in the snow, but I don’t understand why she wore THAT coat with THOSE shoes!

Melanie was enjoying a smoke and some shopping time with her daughter Stella. At least she looks happy! I have seen some pictures of Griffith lately that were not flattering in the slightest. In fact, they made me shiver a little.

I have seen both men and women wearing the hat trend for winter. Take a look at Cameron Diaz and boyfriend Paul Sculfor walking hand in hand and wearing some great hats. They look so stylish. Cameron seems a little camera shy, which just makes these photos even greater.

It’s not often that I critique the clothes of celebrities’ children. Okay, I have actually never done it on here before. I try to leave the poor young ones out when it comes to being snarky, because, well they are just kids!

But today, I just HAD to tell you about this coat that Suri Cruise was seen wearing. On December 9th, Suri and her mom Katie Holmes (who is a regular on this blog for both fashion do’s and don’ts) were out and about in New York City. Suri was wearing the most adorable, the most timeless, the most fashionable little coat a girl could possibly wear and I just fell in love with it!

The coat is from Best & Co. and is the Scallop Placket Coat in white. Here’s a snippet about the company and the coat.

Best & Co., the luxury children’s fashion brand is best known for its traditional and fashionable clothing for babies and children.  This pearly white scallop coat is the perfect example of the chic elegance that Suri always displays. There are a couple of qualities about this coat that grab my attention. The first thing is the scalloped design on the neckline. That gives this coat a sophistication like no other. I also like that the coat is long. If you follow the Cruise’s at all, then you know that little Suri Cruise likes to wear dresses, all the time. The girl can’t stand pants! Since it is cold in New York, she needs a coat that will cover those little legs. This coat is perfect.

There is so much you can do fashion-wise when it comes to bundling up and staying warm in the winter. You do not have to look frumpy either! You can dress warmly and look absolutely dazzling by just adding a couple of great pieces to your winter wardrobe.

A great coat is a must for the winter. Check out Hilary Swank’s white coat above. Gorgeous! I have several coats that I wear with different outfits and I didn’t pay a fortune for them either. My most recent find was a Kenneth Cole feather/down coat that I purchased at Costco for $30. It is SO warm and it looks great with a pair of jeans. I also have a black leather coat that I can wear with just about anything.

I have several pairs of boots that keep my little toes warm and toasty. I have the great knee high leather pair of boots that I wear when I am feeling like a rock star. Take a look at Taylor Swift’s awesome black boots above. Then I have my casual boots in black, brown and beige that I wear the most. It snows where I live, so boots are a must! I can pair these boots with a pair of skinny jeans or boot cut and I am good to go!

On Sunday, September 7th, Katie Holmes donned her Inspector Gadget trench coat and hat. Is she on a secret mission? Maybe a mission to hide from all of the annoying paparazzi hanging out at her home day after day after day. Good luck with that!

I actually love this look on Katie and think she looks so stylish. I really like the beige coat with the thick black belt. The coat has a pattern on it too that is just gorgeous. Have I mentioned I have a thing for coats (and jeans and shoes and purses, oy)?

One of these days I may try a hat like Katie Holmes. Maybe I’ll make it a Snarkstress Challenge. I don’t wear hats for one reason and one reason only. It messes up my hair! I’m not going to spend half an hour on my hair and then let a silly hat mess it all up! I guess it you have a ‘do like Katie’s then a hat could work.

Britney Spears turned 27 on December 2nd and the girl is just looking good. Happy Birthday Britney!

There was no taking it easy for Britney today on her big day. She pre-taped a holiday segment for the upcoming Christmas at Rockefeller Center in New York City special. She was dressed in all black in a classy looking coat, skirt and heels. Britney was also rocking a great looking hair do and smiled radiantly as she spoke into a microphone. Doesn’t she look amazing and confident up on that stage? You go girl!

Continuing on with her busy day, she performed on ABC’s Good Morning America wearing a pair of hot, high waited shorts, black hose, knee high boots and sexy red lace top. She looks so happy! I am excited for her.

Later in the evening, Britney Spears attended a Birthday Bash and Circus Album Release Party at Club Tenjune in Downtown, Manhattan. She was busting out in a tight black dress. Circus is Britney’s new album that she released today. This is definitely her comeback.

Wow, all I can say is that it’s great to have the old chic and elegant Katie Holmes back. Doesn’t she look fab here (particularly for a jaunt to the playground)?

I have just one question, though: Why does it always look like Kate is dressed for sub-zero temps while poor Suri always seems to be out in short sleeves? Something to ponder, for sure. Any theories are most welcome…
