iVillage 2008 Fashion Ins and Outs

According to iVillage.com, these are what’s going to be hot and not so hot in 2008. Some of the trends are pretty much a confirmation of what the Today Show has put together for 2008 Fashion Trends we should look forward to.

Let’s start with what’s in for 2008.

2008fashion-colors.jpg
Vibrant colors in flower and abstract prints.

Safari Style instead of the biker chick look or head-to-toe black ensembles.

2008fashion_ballerinachic_in.jpg
Ballerina Chic. Look for this in Spring transitioning to winter. Floaty dresses and skirts in chiffons and tulle. Anything with feminine details like ruffles and 3/4 sleeves.

Maxi Dress. Again, the colors, patterns and the influence of multicultural fashion in Asia, Africa, etc.. The belts will still be in as they compliment the body-conscious dresses and sheaths.

Chunky jewelries are staying. Save the dainty jewelries for 2009.

Meanwhile, it’s time to toss these out in 2008..

Logos/Labels are out. Thank goodness. I don’t understand why they were ever in anyway. Less is more.

Also, it’s time to really toss those leggings out. Sienna Miller is shaking in boots as we speak..hehe. As well as the super-low waisted jeans and plaid pieces. Brightly colored comfy crocs are out too. I wear my bright pink at home..hehe. :)

  1. I don’t know about tossing out the leggings. I was ready to Goodwill mine since I never could make the look work for me. Then it got pretty cold yesterday. Wow, was I glad to have them! I wore black tights under a black skirt with the tights tucked into black knee-high boots. They not only looked good, they kept me warm.

  2. Dexie says:

Meg, I love my tights too. They keep me warm and chic :). I think they’re referring to the footless and mid-calf kinds that Sienna Miller love to wear :) .

  3. Hi Dexie,

Mine are actually that type — maybe why they didn’t work before. But tucked into boots, even mid-calf tights work.

  4. mare says:

I like a more simplified ballerina look, clean and soft.

  5. Dexie says:

Yeah, I saw one at Nordstrom yesterday. I hope it goes on sale soon :)

  6. Fay says:

I hope dainty jewelry does come back in 2009

  7. Tanya says:

    those DG boots are UGGly.

  8. Fay says:

I agree… boots are very strange. Well… that’s the runway for you. It’s either gorgeous, or strange.

  9. Fay says:

didn’t like any of the outfits.

  10. Fay says:

took the trends to an extreme.

  11. Pearl says:

    I’m IN for vibrant colors.
