First off, yes that’s my stomach roll. I’m not a photoshop expert by any means so no air-brushing here.. LOL. No matter how many crunches I subject my abs to, the damn thing just won’t go away. Blame the chocolate and my love for food and cooking(and wine, hah). Alrighty, moving on…

The catholic school girl look. I think anyone can fashion it without looking errr, for lack of a better word, slutty? I went to a Catholic School so I’ve worn those uniforms. It’s amazing how it connotates sexiness. It might be due to the idea of a “virginal” facade. Well, evidently, I’m not done with my catholic school girl phase as much as I’m done with the “virgin” phase, ahahahaha =P. I still rock it once in a while. This time around, in a more chic and sophisticated way. I meant to wear this Steve and Barry’s brown plaid skirt with brown tights but I haven’t gotten around into buying one so pardon my bare legs. I promise I’ll pick one up soon. Like tonight .

Covington Grey Plaid Skirt From Sears, $4.99

I actually found something for Fall when I Spring sale shopping at Sears last weekend. I spotted this grey plaid skirt from Covington collection for $4.99. Originally selling for $36. AWESOME. Gray is supposed to be the Fall’s color trend so I’m slightly incorporating it in my wardrobe. Just slightly though. Not going overboard since I like my clothes to transition in any season and any year, . Anyway, back to the Covington skirt. I’m going to wear it tomorrow to Church for our Homecoming with my dark blue MOD blouse from CATO and the black knee-high boots for shoe wear. I wish I have a skinny belt though to cinched in the waist. Oh well. I’ll just have to live without it. For now anyway . I’m going to try to take a picture of the whole ensemble and show you next week.

Spring Sale Shopping @ SEARS. $4.99 Dresses, etc

I LOOOOOOOOVE it when SEARS has their $4.99 Clearance Sale. I once raked in Apostrophe skirts and Canyon River Blues jeans for $4.99 each. Well, the store is having those sales again so I took advantage of them this past weekend. I didn’t go all crazy though. I had to think whether the “trend” for next year’s Spring/Summer season will match the stuff I bought. So I got a couple of dresses that fits that criteria. I saw some skirts I wanted too but they were too big. Dammit. I might have been too late in getting my hand on these awesome bargains. Crap… LOL.

My $9.99 Blue Floral W/ Sash Belt Top

For some reason, this navy blue floral top with wide sash belt from CATO is showing as black in the picture. Oh well. I swear it’s blue . I love the square neck and wide sash belt. And of course the sale price of $9.99 from it’s original price of $14.99.

I just wore it with my L.E.I Ashely low-rise jeans. And once again, no necklace. I’m feeling bare on the neck all of a sudden these days, heh.

Feeling Pretty W/ My Brown Floral Smocked Tube Top

I’m really starting to like CATO a lot. I’ve bought a lot of stylish clothes from there lately in very affordable prices might I add. First was the white cropped pants which I bought for only $12.99, the white eyelet summer dress which was on sale for $13.99, and then the dark blue MOD fitted blouse for only $7.99. Now here’s another one(among others) I dug out of their clearance rack the other day. This brown floral smocked tube top that actually ties on the back was only $4.99. I wore this yesterday and I felt so pretty I didn’t wanna touch raw chicken to cook for dinner. LOL. Whuuut? My husband didn’t see what I had in the bag when I went shopping actually so when he got home from work yesterday he was like, “oh niice, is that new? Errrr, yeah??? . Anyhoo, I wore it with my low-rise Levi’s jeans and barefoot since we didn’t go anywhere yesterday. Just lounged around the house with my pretty new smocked tube top .

If you noticed in the last picture, I broke the “fashion rule” by not wearing any necklace. I just didn’t feel like it. I thought going bare was much better. Besides, I’m always breaking “rules” anyway which is MY fashion rule.

What do you think? Should I stop breaking the fashion rules?

Steve and Barry’s Brown Trouser For $5.49

This Vista brown flare trouser is my first pick when I entered the Steve and Barry’s store from our recently concluded Upstate New York road trip. I found it in the Clearance section and as soon as I saw my size, I grabbed it immediately. $5.49 for a trouser, Come On. Too bad they didn’t have it in black as well. There were pink ones but who wears pink trousers these days? Well no one under 50 anyway. This Steve and Barry’s pant is the main reason why I opted to buy a classic piece from Sarah Jessica Parker’s BITTEN line. I’m trying to build my trouser selection so even though I saw skirts and casual tops for like $3 each I decided to get this trouser instead. Yah know, there comes a time when you just have to let go of some sales to have “mature” pieces in your wardrobe .

I should add that I was so relieved when I tried it on and it fit perfectly. To quote my hubby, “NIIIICCE” . After all the food I ate at my in-laws’s family reunion party, it felt so good knowing I’m still the same size as when I left for vacation… LOL.

A SlideShow Of My Spring/Summer Shoes

My family and I are leaving tomorrow for a 1 week vacation in Upstate NY. So I won’t be posting during those times. I could probably check e-mails using my mother-in-law’s computer but other than that I’m going to enjoy our vacation without internet. Well I will try anyway, . I hope you all miss me and my bargains. I originally thought of posting scheduled entries but I don’t feel right not responding to your comments right away and if I post any bargains today, by the time they’re posted, the sale is probably gone. So in lieu of those, I am posting a slideshow of some my bargain shoes that I alternately use during the Spring and Summer seasons. I also use some of them during the Fall and Winter when it’s not too cold since we don’t get snow here in North Carolina anyway. But mostly, I wear my knee-high boots. I didn’t include my platform flip-flops and other spring/summer shoes in the slide show. I was lazy to take pictures, sorry. But anyway, “see” you all in August and enjoy my shoes .

My Own Affair W/ [Bargain] Dresses

I’m following(copying, whatever )in Sasha’s footsteps and declare my own love affair with dresses. Next to shoes(except sneakers and flats), I go insane over dresses. Classics, prints, different fabrics/cuts/styles, bring ‘em all. I wear it during Spring/Summer season with heels and wedges and during Fall/Winter with my knee-high boots. I have my own collection, albeit shoes takes more precedence, I’m slowly getting there in having quite a reasonable selection. In this inset picture(I cropped my hubby’s picture out), I’m wearing a black halter print dress that I found at AAFES years ago for less than $20 I think. I’ve covered it with a Metro7 velvet gray 3/4 sleeves shrug from Walmart, on sale for $3, since it was a cold day in December of last year when I wore it. Stilettos in December, yet cold? Well, that’s the benefit of living in North Carolina. You would still feel the winter cold without running into snow which is AWE-SOME. We’ve lived in NY for 8 years therefore winter without snow in NC is like eating a huge slice of devil’s chocolate cake topped with dollops of whipped cream and a cherry on top. Uh huh. FYI, this picture was taken 4 months post-baby. I’ve lost quite a few more pounds since then. Plus sexy bangs to boot. Just thought I’d throw that in there .

Now on to some of my dresses I picked for this entry…

Plum Halter-Tube Eyelet Dress
I dugged this among the great bargains at ROSS. It was tagged $3.99. I absolutely love the color and you just can’t beat that price. This is the dress I casually mentioned when I showed you my picks from Clothez 2 The Edge store. It has a cord tie-belt around the waist. I haven’t worn it yet coz I’ve reserved it for our vacation in NY at the end of this month.

Multicolor Flower Print Tube Dress
There is a blue rose pin and blue ribbon to accentuate this lovely printed tube dress. This is perfect for a garden wedding party or at Church with a white cropped shrug. If I remember it right, I paid $12 for it from AAFES. The same year I bought the black printed halter dress above.

Tan Brown V-Neck Polka-Dot Wrap Dress
This is the tan version of the black polka-dot dress I found from Goody’s for only $4.99. The original price was $30 so it’s definitely a STEAL. I like to have the same things in different colors so when I saw this tan brown color 2 months after I bought the black version I was smiling for ear to ear .
