My Holiday Dress : Suzi Chin Twist Front Charmeuse Dress

After showing you ladies Under $100 Holiday Cocktail Dresses, as well as Under $50 Holiday Dresses, AND the Under $100 Holiday Looks Guide, I shopped for myself. I have to take care of myself too, you know? . I bought this Suzi Chin twist front charmeuse dress from Smart Bargains on sale for $79.99.

You’re probably wondering about the color. Our last year’s Christmas Picture theme was red and white. I wore a white dress with red cardigan and red pumps. This year I decided to have a winter blue theme. That’s why I bought a blue dress. We’re not doing the quintessential red, white or green this time around. That’s what everybody is going to be doing, besides those ugly looking Christmas decorated sweaters. Oh My Gosh, perish the thought.

Back to the Suzi Chin dress, as the picture shows, it’s silk charmeuse with V-neck and slight ruching on the bustline. I was so excited when my dress came in the mail. I tried it on right away and oh my gosh, the charmeuse silk is on my body felt glorious. Not to mention glam and elegant.

I’m looking forward to wearing it for our pictures, at Church and probably at our Christmas dinner. Plus, any special occasion in the future.

Under $50 Look : Ruffled Tiered Top, Jeans and Flats

I wore my ruffled tiered top this past Thanksgiving. We had our own intimate dinner at our house where I cooked everything by the way. Even if we were just in our house, that doesn’t stop me (or the family) from looking nice for the Holidays. Interestingly enough, I was going to wear the top 2 days before Thanksgiving when I had to go to Wal-Mart to pick up other stuff for the dinner. My husband looked at me that day and said, "Baby, that top is too pretty for Wal-Mart". So I changed into a basic blue drawstring top instead. I figured the ruffled tiered top would fit the special occasion of Thanksgiving .

New Sunnies and A No Makeup Day For Me!!

I bought this big sunnies at Wal-Mart last week. It was freaking $10. It costs more than any of my designer replica sunnies which I bought from flea markets for $6 each.. LOL.

And because I’m all for fairness, I figured I’d show you my Au Naturale look since I shared pictures of Celebrities with no makeup the other day. No foundation or loose powder, no mascara, and no lipcolor whatsoever. The only reason my bottom lip is pinkish is because I have a habit of biting it and I really need to stop doing that before my husband gets accused of giving me a bloody lip… LOL!

I love huge sunnies. They’re the perfect accessory for that famous mantra that we fashionistas love when we’re having such a lazy day, “If All Else Fails, Accessorize“. Speaking of Accessories, b5media’s own Accessory Lady is nominated for the Fabbies Award. Please Vote for her, thanks

Plum Eyelet Halter Dress, Shrug and Boots For A Windy Day

If last week weather was frigid cold which prompted me to bundle up, today is all windy. You should’ve heard the thunder this morning. I thought my roof was going to fall on top of me while I was fighting my darnest to leave the comfort of my bed. I was contemplating on calling my Channel Editors to let them know I can’t work today coz I’m afraid to turn my computer on. Good thing whatever bowling tournament they were doing up in heaven stopped, heh. Ok, breakdown of today’s Family Dinner outfit, yeah, I’m dressed too early. We’re meeting up with my brother-in-law’s family to eat at my favorite Japanese restaurant, KOBE. Sushi here I come.

Forever21 Priscilla Charcoal Grey Coat, A Gift From Star

This Forever21 Priscilla Charcoal Gray Coat was a gift from my dear friend Star. December is my birthday month therefore my loved ones are showering me with gifts. First was the box of Victoria’s Secret Garden Lotion Coffre from the hubster, now this gorgeous grey jacket. Ahhhh. Am I spoiled or what?

I love all the feminine details starting from the rounded wide collar, to the 3/4 sleeves with button trim and button pleated-front. Gorgeous! Unfortunately, it’s completely sold out but you can get something similar, just in shorter length with the Priscilla Lady Swing Coat.

This is probably going to be my coat throughout this winter year and I’m sure I’ll be swinging it for years to come as well.

Neutral Look For My CATO $3.99 Long Beaded Necklace

When I saw this single strand long brown tones beaded necklace from my last CATO shopping spree where I bought a blue floral top and brown floral smoked tube top, I knew I had to have it and I knew exactly what to wear along with it. Like Sasha, I sometimes build my ensembles starting from a particular accessory. It’s so much fun, you should try it too sometimes . I wore my brown polka-dot wrap dress with a white skin tight cami underneath since I wore it for Church today. I had to keep the twins obscure yah know . A brown wood bangle graced my wrist and an olive green floral wedge from my friend Krisa for shoe wear. More pictures after the fold.

This whole look cost less than $30, my dahlings… First, check out the shoes. I LOVE IT!

SJP’s BITTEN $9.98 Red Canvas Shoes “BURNING” Review

Ok, so I said, even though this canvas red sneakers shoes from Sarah Jessica Parker’s BITTEN collection is an obvious knock off of Chuck Taylor’s yet I bought it because it’s less than $10, right? Well, I discovered why it’s so cheap. It’s cause the day you break this pair of sneakers in which I did when we went to finally watch Transformers movie this weekend and walked around Wal-Mart for some groceries and the Baby’s new pair of Mary Janes , my pinkies were burning. YUP! I was in pain walking in these damn shoes. So what?, I should’ve expected it right? I mean it’s cheap. Well, I’ve bought cheaper shoes from Target, Wal-Mart, PAYLESS, and definitely other places but I’ve never felt my pinkies burning the first day I wore any of ‘em. I mean it’s not like they’re going to fall off but still, I was hurting. I’m hoping the reason is because I’m still breaking it in like my husband claimed. I guess I’ll find out the next time I wear it. Talk about literal irony, heh. BITTEN = burning pinkies = pain.

I Got BITTEN By Sarah Jessica Parker pt2

For my second purchase of Sarah Jessica Parker’s BITTEN line from our stop at Steve and Barry’s in NY from our vacation last week, I decided on shoes. But it’s not what you think I’d buy though. Once again, BITTEN is boring to me. No offense to SJP but stamping it with “classic” doesn’t make a difference to me at all. But anyway, I saw a pair of espadrille wedge but it was ugly. Even my husband said so. There were flip-flops and I have to say they’re very affordable but I have enough flip-flops in my house that I care to count so I didn’t pick any. Instead, I picked a Chuck Taylor low-top canvas shoes knock-off. Yes it is a knock-off. No matter which way you turn it, it is one. But I bought it coz it’s $9.98 and it’s red .

It’s not for the $5.49 brown Steve and Barry’s trouser but it would sure go with any pairs of jeans for a casual day. Hubs asked if there’s a pink color but didn’t find any. I guess I’ll just have to reserve that color for Converse Chuck Taylor’s

I Got BITTEN By Sarah Jessica Parker pt1

Well not quite. Almost but not totally BITTEN by Sarah Jessica Parker’s clothing line. I wasn’t really impressed by her collection even after Oprah glorified it in her show. Great prices but too drabby for my style. SJP calls it as classic, eh. That’s all I have to say. BUT, that didn’t stop me from buying some when we stopped at the Steve and Barry’s store in Utica NY on our drive home from our NY vacation. I spied from the corner of my eye the store on our drive to my in-laws’s house. I told my husband I wanted to stop there because I wanted to check out SJP which he didn’t have a problem with since he wanted to check out the $15 Starbury sneakers anyway. I was actually waking up from my short drug-induced nap which I’ll explain some other time when he said “guess where we’re going?”. I saw the Shopping Mall sign but he said No and a few seconds later it dawned on me that we were on our way to Steve and Barry’s. Woohoooo. Honestly, I wanted to jump on the BITTEN by SJP bandwagon, LOL.

Anyhooo, great prices, the collection is quite undesirable for my taste. You really have to have a creative mind fashion wise to make the outfits pop. A lot of accessorizing is needed to infuse your own style on the BITTEN collection. The only prints I found were on graphic tees and the few nautical tunics in blue, and peach colors and plaid Bermuda shorts. Solid colors like black, and white are abundant though. Great low prices of course. The tops ranging from $7.98 to $14.98. I picked this pale pink 3/4 sleeves Poplin fitted blouse. For my first SJP purchase I figured I’d start with a classic blouse that will go with the trouser that I bought from the store’s Clearance rack(more on this later) and my black pinstriped My Michelle trouser already in my closet as well. I wanted a white one also but they didn’t have it in my size. I always buy Large when buying blouses like these. Unfortunately the white ones only came in Small, and XL. Yes, I must point out that BITTEN caters to all sizes which is good. This BITTEN by Sarah Jessica Parker 3/4 sleeves fitted blouse is $9.98 by the way.

A SlideShow Of My Spring/Summer Shoes

My family and I are leaving tomorrow for a 1 week vacation in Upstate NY. So I won’t be posting during those times. I could probably check e-mails using my mother-in-law’s computer but other than that I’m going to enjoy our vacation without internet. Well I will try anyway, . I hope you all miss me and my bargains. I originally thought of posting scheduled entries but I don’t feel right not responding to your comments right away and if I post any bargains today, by the time they’re posted, the sale is probably gone. So in lieu of those, I am posting a slideshow of some my bargain shoes that I alternately use during the Spring and Summer seasons. I also use some of them during the Fall and Winter when it’s not too cold since we don’t get snow here in North Carolina anyway. But mostly, I wear my knee-high boots. I didn’t include my platform flip-flops and other spring/summer shoes in the slide show. I was lazy to take pictures, sorry. But anyway, “see” you all in August and enjoy my shoes .
