5 Places To Bargain Shop

When it comes to bargain shopping there are 5 places I could honestly tell you that I frequent a lot. I actually have more than that, maybe about 10 places to bargain shop but I’m only going to share with you the 5 places I mostly go to for bargain shopping.

CATO

CATO – I’ve only discovered CATO about 2 years ago actually. Before that, whenever I saw the commercials featuring beautiful dresses and tops I thought they were expensive. The first time I visited the store inside a mall I was surprised how reasonable the prices are. I could walk in there, grab 5-6 items and only spend about $50. That’s because I usually go to the clearance racks. The ones that aren’t on sale are still pretty affordable but I learned early on that if I wait at least 2 weeks, some of the items from the regular racks would be on the clearance racks with their respective sale prices. CATO has tops, dresses, jeans, shirts, shoes, accessories and even home decors. Plus Size line is also available. To describe CATO more clearly is by calling it the feminine, grown-up yet trendy version of Forever21. If you’ve ever thought that CATO is for old women I’m telling you now, you are wrong. 30’s is hardly old. Step inside one time, check out their clearance racks and I can assure you that you’ll be inside a CATO store every 2 weeks or so.

TJMaxx

TJMaxx is the quintessential place to shop for brand names in affordable prices. You will find brands like XOXO, Jessica Simpson, DKNY Jeans, Nine West, Unlisted, just to name a few. TJMaxx is similar to ROSS. They pretty much carry the same brands in good prices. I say the more stores like that, the merrier. I’m just hoping one of them doesn’t close like Goody’s which also carried the same brand items in bargain prices. The trick on finding really good stuff at TJMaxx is having patience. When you first enter the store, you’ll see racks right next to each other. It could get overwhelming even to someone like me who likes to dig for bargains. If you decide to go bargain shopping at TJMaxx I suggest you have a clear head, no rushed schedule, and are willing to dig, dig and dig even more.

Old Navy

OLD NAVY is one of my favorite go-to place for jeans. I’ve found other items there of course but I’m happy to say that Old Navy Jeans fit perfectly with my body. I’m blessed with curves and well-endowed bottom. Besides L.E.I and Levi’s jeans, ON Jeans fit me nicely. Old Navy fashion tends to be trendy as well but it has classic aspects to it. Of course you can’t ignore how affordable Old Navy clothing are too. It’s a perfect place for the whole family to shop at.

Wal*Mart

Wal-Mart — If you look beyond the name of Kathie Lee Gifford’s clothing line, you’ll be surprised to discover trendy and stylish items from Wal-Mart. Brands like No Boundaries, Metro7, GEORGE, and surprisingly, Levi’s as well. I have found many fashionable and affordable things from Wal-Mart through out the years. I’ve found dresses, tops, skirts, shorts, and shoes. And like I said, Levi’s jeans and jackets. I give Wal-Mart credit in paving the way for my flats obsession. For a long time I refused to by myself a pair of flats because I prefer heels but one day I saw a blue polka-dot flats for $7 and my flats love-affair sprouted like crazy ever since.

Payless

PAYLESS — This is THE shoe store where I buy my shoes all the time. I love the prices especially during the BOGO sale. What you see in the picture is just 1/3 of the pairs of Payless shoes that’s in my closet. And yes, I wear them all but not at the same time of course .

There you go, my favorite 5 places to bargain shop. I used my own pictures to show you proof that I actually do shop there and I’m not just blogging about them because it happens to be my job that I love. I hope you consider these places if you haven’t already. They’re the best places to shop at, recession times or not. All you really have to do is dig among the clearance racks and have a sense of what you like to wear to represent your style identity.

This Old Navy Model Looks Pissed Off

Does this Old Navy print model looks pissed off and irritated or what? I got this in my e-mail this morning and that’s the first thing I noticed. She’s a beautiful girl. So smile goshdarrnit. So what if it’s Monday. The world has so much to offer. The pissed off model look is soooo done and over with. Smile, and the world will smile with you. It’s 2008 after all. Alrighty then, I guess she wants you to shop at Old Navy for preppy sweaters and wide leg trousers. She has a smiling picture when you click that link. Thank goodness.

OLD NAVY Metallic Jeans, Say It Ain’t So!

OLD NAVY Metallic Jeans, NO THANKS. If it’s a metallic dress, maybe. A metallic top? most probably. But Metallic Jeans?, help me find the scissors please. Don’t get me wrong, I love Old Navy brand jeans. It’s in my top 3 of favorite jeans. Not only does an ON Jeans fit me nicely and comfortably, it’s also very affordable. But I think I’ll pass on this metallic jeans. This is just another case of when Old Navy has it’s brain-haired ideas and try TOO hard to be “hip”. ON go through that phase at least 5 or 6 times a year..LOL. I try to ignore it when it happens. OLD NAVY usually comes back to redeem it’s brain in the end, heh.

My Black Friday Deals From OLD NAVY

Besides going to the PX(military dept. store) I really didn’t go anywhere else except OLD NAVY. And we didn’t even get out of the house until about 11am. I love bargains but not crazy enough to face the mad crowd. Not today anyway, heh. Even at the PX I didn’t really find anything clothing wise. I saw my $17 electric griddle and I was good..LOL. YES, I’m a fashionista who loves to cook hence my giddiness over kitchen gadgets. Anyway, back to fashion. I only found 2 things from OLD NAVY. Well 2 things that I cared to look for anyway. I knew I wanted to get jeans coz besides Levi’s and L.E.I jeans, Old Navy Jeans make my derriere look really good which is why it’s a favorite brand of mine.

The Flirt jeans. Dark wash and flare-boot cut. I had to dig a little bit for my size from the leftover mayhem that the BLACK Friday shoppers left behind but I found it. Thank God. It used to be $30, on sale for $15.

Navy blue nautical mini dress. It’s the only one I really cared for after witnessing the mess under the pile of rummage on the clearance section. There are other nice stuff in very good sale prices but they were all too big and it was seriously pissing me off digging through all the whole thing. I saw this mini dress and I was done.

That’s about it. I found a couple stuff for the baby girl, paid for ‘em and was out of there. I didn’t plan on sticking around to watch crazy people get even more crazier. Frankly, they take the joy out of shopping.

OLD NAVY Nautical Tunics in Grey and Yellow

These boatneck nautical tunics are 2 tunics I just bought from OLD NAVY. It used to be $14.50 each, but is currently on sale for $7.25 each. There were other prints like polka-dots and plain but I’m not over my nautical obsession yet . For a Fall trend color I picked the grey color. Actually I originally picked a grey one and a navy blue one in Large sizes. But when I got home the large made me look like I’m swimming in it so I went back the next day to exchange it in medium size which is always my size in the first place. That time I picked the yellow color. Just because I don’t have that much color in my wardrobe, heh. I am looking forward to wearing ‘em this Fall with jeans or maybe skirts with knee-high boots.

OLD NAVY “Purple” Dress For $14

I haven’t been to OLD NAVY in a while. Online or In-store. Except for baby and kids clothes which I did for another fashion blog that’s coming soon . Anyhooo, in-store, the last time was June actually, when I bought a pair of jeans. Don’t get me wrong, I love OLD NAVY. But most often that not, I get accosted with crappy clothes that they seem to purposely shoved down my throat everytime I visit. Today, I digress. I found this purple knit empire dress for only $13.99. Technically the color is called “Dionysus Wine” which is cool. It does look like a color of an nice tasting wine . But I’m going to call it purple, alrighty? Anyhooo, I think the bold color is very well suited for Fall. The plunging v-neckline is such a contrast to the long-sleeves but matches perfectly. I also love the drawstring empire waist detail. I certainly wouldn’t mind wearing this with black stilettos like the woman in the picture but I think it’ll look good with a black pair of knee-high boots as well come Winter time. Please don’t wear it with UGGS. Hardy Har Har

Style It Less Fashionista : Graphic Tee, ON Jeans and Stilettos

If I’m not in dresses and heels(wedges), I’m wearing jeans and graphic tees and stilettos (or wedge, platform flip flops). Here I am today in my new OLD NAVY long dark-wash boot cut jeans($14.99), L.E.I graphic tee with ruched sides at the hem that I found at AAFES(military department store) last Memorial Day sale for only $4.25. It used to be $17. STEAL!. Black “buckle” stilettos from another AAFES store back when we used to live in NY, $12.

I cuffed the ends of the jeans by the way ‘coz they’re just too long. I don’t want to trip over ‘em with my stilettos, yah know .

The Italian nomination link charms bracelet is probably the most expensive item in this ensemble. Small charms cost about $6 each while the big square ones were $10. I collected these like 3 years ago. As you can see in the “I *heart* My Mom* square, the “heart* is gone. The paint has washed off through the years. So yes, ignore the bracelet..LOL. The whole thing probably costs close to $100 if not more. It’s a timely piece since it represents ME, and my family .Anyhooo, the other tan wood and beads bracelet was only $1. The heart shaped pendant necklace colorful crystal studs was a gift from Krisa. Sterling silver hoop earrings for my ears. The black sunnies was $5 I think. I can’t remember anymore. But I know it’s a cheap one from somewhere I also can’t remember. I’m having a “Mommy Brain” right now. I apologize.

Nevertheless, I look good, Hah.

This Fashionista Momma Went Shopping, Part 2

Here’s part 2 of my shopping spree as promised .

White multi-color polka dot tunic from DECODED. I found it at AAFES on sale for $7. There was a blue color of this but I picked up the white one. I’m feeling white this season . The keyhole tie on the back looks cute ‘eh?

When my husband bought some bargains from OLD NAVY , I picked up this bootcut dark-wash jeans for myself, $14.99 . It’s funny coz, the other day I was brainstorming in my head and told myself I need to buy a new pair of dark-wash jeans. Then I remembered I just bought one..LOL. I completely forgot about it. DO’H. I think it’s a sign telling me to organize my closet, heh.

My New Orgasmic Pair of Shoes. Here’s the other one . Anyhoo, back to this 2-toned, blacky strappy brown leopard print platform heels. I found it at PAYLESS. How much?, only $9.95. *ROWR* right? As soon as I saw it I knew I had to take it home. I’m still on the hunt for a peep-toe pumps version like Sasha’s but for now my new leopard print heels would do just fine

Alrighty, off for another shopping spree……….soon I hope .
