While waiting for my hair color to settle at the hair salon today I was reading the January 2009 issue of Good Housekeeping Magazine. In one of their little fashion feature, the magazine was talking about how a long pearl necklace, single or double strand could make a look chic and sophisticated.

I agree. I do have the classic choker pearl necklace but I also have a long single strand pearl necklace that I found from a Flea Market. I like wearing it as an accessory for my black dresses and black tops. Whether it’s real or faux pearls, an outfit, especially black outfits really do represent a certain chic look when pearls are involved.

7 Luxury Items Wishlist For Style It Less Fashionista

This is actually a 7 things About Me meme that The Cheap Chica tagged me. I’ve already done this fun meme over at She Knows Best but I thought I’d do it here again with a twist. I mean it’s a no-brainer that I love to look stylish but spend less money doing it. But for this meme, I’ve decided to share with you 7 items on my Luxury wishlist. I would only buy these items if someone offers to pay for them or if I suddenly win $10(more) million in the lottery. That is if I ever buy a ticket one of these days, hah. Anyway, bear in mind, if I have money to cover all of these items, in real life I would still set aside a huge chunk for my children’s college fund, then take all of them with me shopping for their own haulages, PLUS, furnish my kitchen with all the gadgets I love and of course all tech gadgets that I could possibly afford. Also, most probably set aside money for vacation, bills, a house, decorations and furnitures of course. See, even though I’m only role playing I still have a hard time spending money frivolously. So yeah, I’d probably buy all of these with no care in the world IF my husband has a hammer on top of my head threatening to pound on me if I don’t stop thinking about bargains and loved ones. Whewwww.

Oh I would love to have a pair of Jimmy Choo, Dior and Christian Louboutin shoes but if I have to have an uber-expensive shoes in my closet right now, it has to be Manolo Blahnik. So this black Open-Toe Mary Jane Pump from the Fall collection is my pick.

I’m not much a pearls person. Although I wear my faux $1 long strand necklace with black ensembles all the time. I do think pearls is a classic necklace that every woman should have. They would go perfectly with another classic that every woman should have also, The LBD . $2600 from Neiman Marcus, hey, give me a baby pink one as well .

Speaking of LBD, I wouldn’t mind having this floral button dress from Blumarine, for $1070. Love the cut and love the flower button detail.

If Gwyneth Paltrow can tote along a Kelly Hermes as a diaper bag years ago without feeling guilty why can’t I? Posh Beckham has been showing off her pink Birkin a lot but I still prefer the black one.

Last but not the least, this $13,500 diamond blossom bracelet from Tiffany’s. Umm, yeah.

Style It Less Fashionista : Black Polka-Dot Dress and Red Heels

The print is not really visible on this picture but this is a black polka-dot faux-wrap dress. I found this dress by digging at Goody’s sales rack last December as a part of my shopping spree gift from the hubby. The original ticket price was $30 but was on sale for $9.98 BUT this favorite store of mine was also having their 50% off sale on already On Sale items during that time so the cashier rang it up to $4.99. I KNOW! I love finding deals like that. The red peep-toe platform heels was from PAYLESS, for $19.99. It was also part of my birthday shopping spree. Unfortunately on this picture, you can’t see the 3 1/2 inches height coz the heels were sinking onto the soft ground. Here’s a close-up view instead .

For accessories, I wore a long strand of faux pearls I found from flea market for $1. Red beads chandelier earrings which I bought for $7 years ago. And of course, my D&G sunnies .

FYI, I went back to the store 2 months after I found this black polka-dot dress and guess what I found? The tan version. I’ll try to remember to take a picture of me in it with different shoes and accessories of course the next time I wear it. JOY!
