Here’s part 3 of the 2009 Oscar Awards Red Carpet Fashion. Parts 1 and 2 are here.

Kate Winslet, Best Actress Winner once again wowed me with her Yves Saint Laurent gun metal gray one-shoulder dress with a black lace overlay. Kate can’t do no wrong in my book. She knows how to dress her amazing curvaceous body. What a great way for her to end this round of award season. She won lots of them AND looked stunning accepting them, respectively.

Penelope Cruz, Best Supporting Actress winner wore a Pierre Balmain vintage strapless with a brocade-ish embroidery and ruched skirt dress. The always so stylish actress said the dress is actually 60 yrs old. She saw it from a store like 8 years ago and promised herself to buy it. She went back to the store a few months (or weeks) ago and the dress was still there so she bought it to wear to the Oscar’s. I think that is truly remarkable and definitely worth it.

Anne Hathaway, Evan Rachel Wood, Marissa Tomei, Heidi Klum, Jennifer Aniston, Amy Adams, Meryl Streep, Natalie Portman, and Marion Cotillard after the fold..

Anne Hathaway looked amazing in her Armani Prive strapless encrusted dress. Anne has grown to be such a glamourous actress, huh? The dress has fish scales like detailing that shined at the red carpet. She did a fun duet performance with Hugh Jackman at the opening to showcase her singing prowess. Who knew Anne Hathaway could sing?

Evan Rachel Wood looked flawless in her strapless pleated dress. The pale color of her dress matched her porcelain complexion.

Marissa Tomei is one of my favorites tonight with her Versace pleated dress. The one-shoulder top with all the intricate pleated detailing all the way to the elongated train is out of this world. Marissa brought glamour with her and I am so happy.

Marion Cotillard, last year’s Best Actress winner is also wearing a Dior Haute Couture liek Sarah Jessica Parker. Marion’s dress almost looked like SJP’s actually. Except it’s in black color. Marion’s dress is also strapless, with a beaded detailing, belted waist and chiffon skirt. Marion still looked great. I like this better than her last year’s scaly mermaid dress .

Heidi Klum painted the red carpet in a Roland Mouret red origami-paper mache style dress. It’s so different from everyone else which is why I give her props for wearing it. Here bold jewels were to-die-for.

Jennifer Aniston usually dons black dresses during red carpet events but this time she wore a Valentino cream beaded strapless dress. I love the dress but I didn’t like her hair. Was that a braided headband?

Amy Adams looked subdued in her Carolina Herrera red strapless dress. I wasn’t impressed by it. But I was blown away with her Fred Leighton necklace. WOWZA!

Natalie Portman looked put together in a Rodarte pink strapless chiffon dress. It’s nothing extraordinary but she looked pretty .

Meryl Streep looked regal in her Alberta Ferreti dress. The 15 times Oscar nominee joked on the red carpet that she was happy the dress fit. I thought she looked gorgeous.

Angelina Jolie wore an Elie Saab black strapless dress. I was really hoping that Angelina would wow me thins time around but she didn’t. No offense to Elie Saab but this was just boring. Sure it’s an elegant dress but c’mon, Angelina Jolie hasn’t made a good impression at the red carpet this award season. I was expecting to be blown away by her but I feel otherwise. Having said that, I do like her emerald green jewels. But that’s about it.

Freida Pinto wears my favorite color of blue with this John Galliano one-shoulder-sleeved dress. The beaded detail is gorgeous.

Jessica Beil, Alicia Keys and Melissa George after the fold…

Jessica Beil looks beautiful with her hair and makeup. The Prada cream strapless with blousy-bow is really not my thing. I felt like the dress threw up and that huge bow detail is what came out of it.

Melissa George is a beautiful lady but her strapless fitted white dress did her injustice. It pains me to say this because I like her but she looks like a wedding cake topper.

Alicia Keys in a Armani Prive lilac strapless with side-slit dress. She looks stunning. I love the hair and dress but the makeup is a little too much.

Marissa Tomei looked radiant in her Elie Saab mustard yellow dress. When I first saw a glimpse of her at the red carpet I sighed with relief. She was a disaster during the Golden Globes so I was really hoping she’d bounce back to her fabulous stylish self. And she did. The back detailing of this dress is divine. Welcome Back Marissa .

Blake Lively in a blue Nina Ricci uber-tight dress. I love her but I think she’s a miss in this dress. She’s very capable of looking glam but she chose to look like this. Blake is a young HOT star in a HOT show, Gossip Girl. She could’ve made a statement in something stunning. I’m so disappointed with this. I don’t know how she managed to sit down and breathe.

I’m still not over at how Cameron Diaz made this Chanel Haute Couture pink dress look so messy. It’s such a shame.

2009 Golden Globe Red Carpet, part 3

This is part 3 of the 2009 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet. Here are part 1 and 2. I’m happy to say that the celebrities went all out tonight. With a few exceptions which I will get into later, I think almost everyone looked glamourous. And by the way, Lorraine Schwartz is the ubiquitous jewelry of the night. The award season glamour has started my friends.

Ladies (and gents), presenting the 2009 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet..

Salma Hayek, as always looked stunning in her cream Bottega Veneta dress. Salma knows how to dress her body, flawlessly.

Eva Mendes looked exceptionally beautiful in her Dior white gown. I love her Van Cleef & Arpels turquoise choker necklace too. Eva carried that white details on the side really well. Hollywood glam indeed.

Not everyone like this dusty blue Dior gown on Drew Barrymore but I do. I thought it actually fit her cute personality. Especially the huge hair. Did you notice the button details on the side of the dress? NICE!

Kyra Sedgwick brought her own glamour with her red strapless Oscar de la Renta gown. She carried a black clutch to complete her look.

Kate Beckinsale didn’t disappoint in this white strapless J. Mendell dress. The top and the gathered bodice stitching look like a rose petal blooming. It’s gorgeous.

Anne Hathaway looked like a princess in this navy blue Armani Privé strapless with sequins detailing chiffon ballgown. The dark blue color complemented her porcelain complexion. This is definitely one of my top 5’s.

America Ferrera looks refreshing in her Oscar de la Renta taupe asymmetrical one-shoulder dress. Once again, America went with a short dress with a lot of ruching on the skirt. The ruched skirt almost looks like a toned down version of her vintage strapless black ruched dress from the Emmy’s. The matching peep-toe pumps is Jimmy Choo while the jewels are from Fred Leighton.

Part 1 of the 2009 Golden Globe Red Carpet is right here. I thought I could all put them in 1 post but that would mean you’d be sitting there waiting for all the pictures to load. So here’s a part 2 page, enjoy.

Ladies (and gents), presenting the 2009 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet..

Amy Adams is stunning in her Oscar de la Renta black strapless tulle ballgown and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Her skin is flawless, isn’t it?

One of my favorites of the night was Megan Fox in her Ralph Lauren gold dress. She looked statuesquely AMAZING. Check out the tonal embroidery on the dress. I am in awe of how beautiful she looks. This Transformers star is HOT and elegant at the same time. She can’t go wrong in my book. She knows how to step it up during the huge Hollywood events. Her green croc clutch is also from Ralph Lauren.

Kate Winslet, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress winner (finally!) is also a winner in her Yves Saint Laurent black strapless dress. She looked very elegant in this black dress accented with a bit of frost on the bow-tie belt. Minimal but stunning.

Angelina Jolie looks subdued (compare to the other gowns), yet stunning in her Atelier Versace beaded dress. It has that old Hollywood glamour effect on me.The matching heels is from Jimmy Choo and jewels from Neil Lane. She lost the best actress award by the way. Kate Winslet won. Jennifer Lopez looked golden (haha) in her gold Marchesa backless and plunging neckline dress. Even her Lorraine Schwartz jewels were golden . JLO knows how to glam it up while showing LOTS of skin at the same time that’s for sure.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Sandra Bullock look as glamourous as she looks tonight. This Dior one-shoulder tiered gown which Ryan Seacrest kept calling “vanilla” in referral to the color is absolutely stunning. A perfect silhouette in the bodice then it flows nicely at the bottom. 2 thumbs up for Sandra Bullock.

I’m not particularly in love with this pink taffeta Chanel Haute Couture gown that Cameron Diaz is wearing. It’s beautiful but for some reason, Cameron is not wearing it as beautiful as I would like it to be. Sorry. Anyhooo, Cameron went all out with her CHANEL ensemble because her earrings and clutch were also from CHANEL.

Miley Cyrus didn’t win her original song nomination but in my opinion she won in the fashion department. Miley looked beautiful in her strapless Grecian inspired Marchesa gown. The front splits in the middle to reveal gold embroidery print. The white color and style looked appropriate for her age to wear in a big award show like the 2009 Golden Globe Awards. Although, I must point out, what’s with the “brushing” on the cleavage? C’mon now.

Jenna Fisher is the gem from all the solid colored gown tonight. She wore a Zuhair Murad V-neck floral long dress with Jill Stuart heels. Her accessories?

Sierra ring
Chopard bracelet
Kotur Clutch.

I have to give her credit because she had to say all those things to every reporter in the red carpet.

Taraji P. Henson is wearing this fiercely looking black with abstract print J Mendell dress. She finished her look with H. Stern jewels.

Hey everyone, it’s Awards season, so join us again here at Style It Less for the coverage of Red Carpet fashions. First up is the 2009 Golden Globes. Unlike other awards shows that I’ve covered in the past, instead of individually featuring the glamourous celebs and their designer gowns, I’m going to showcase them all in 3-parts post as the pictures arrive. This is part 1. Don’t hesitate to opine in the comment box.

Ladies (and gents), presenting the 2009 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet..

I must give Beyonce some props from not going overboard tonight like she usually does during red carpet shows. Beyonce is one curvaceous beauty in this Elie Saab strapless dress with front slit. With the exception of her Lorraine Schwartz necklace and earrings, she really toned it down.

Olivia Wilde (HOUSE) wore a Reem Acra lavender strapless chiffon ballgown which looks something a girl would wear to a debutante party. It looks very girly and pretty. Pay attention to the full skirt. Gorgeous, no?

Eva Longoria-Parker looked AMAZING in a red Reem Acra strapless mermaid gown. The bust has a scallop edge, ah it’s gorgeous. A silver clutch for a nice contrast with the red dress. Great job Eva, as always.

I’m not that crazy about this halter asymmetrical ruffled tiered hem dress that Debra Messing is wearing. The halter straps look weird. I mean she looks great as always but I’ve seen her in better dresses.

Christina Applegate looks glowing in this pale yellow (almost pale gold) Roberto Cavalli strapless gown. Her gold Lorraine Schwartz jewels are gorgeous too. The floral choker is divine.

Rumer Willis is this year’s Miss Golden Globes. She’s wearing a gorgeous burgundy strapless chiffon dress accessorized with a black belt detailed with some serious bling.

Lisa Edelstein (HOUSE) is wearing a Ferre black strapless with big bow detail dress and gladiator heels. Her jewelry is from Lorraine Schwartz.

Dancing W/ The Stars winner Brooke Burke looks stunning in this one-shoulder mermaid dress with floral and sequins embroidery. I’m researching the designer so bare with me .

I ♥ this blue Oscar de la Renta strapless gown that Jennifer Morrison (HOUSE) is wearing. The color is stunning and the silhouette fitted her perfectly. Jewels are from Lorraine Schwartz as well.

It was fun, lively, fresh and it matched well with the California weather. I have been waiting for Faviana to recreate the Monique Lhuillier dress for less and it finally happened. As you can see in Faviana’s version, the yellow is a little lighter in a subtle way. I think it’s a good decision to use that kind of yellow. Not everyone can pull off a canary yellow the way Teri Hatcher did as well as Mariska Hargitay in her own Carolina Herrera yellow dress. Marcia Cross spent about $30K on her Elie Saab strapless chiffon tulle dress with floral applique’s that she wore at 2008 Primetime Emmy’s. Now the affordable version is out. Thanks to Faviana, you can have an Elie Saab inspired dress for $338.

Faviana’s version of Marcia Cross’ Elie Saab dress is a little different because she used lace to replace the floral applique details. Plus the applique’s were sort of green in color. But, for $338, it’s pretty close. I didn’t actually like the pale color of the Elie Saab dress on Marcia Cross. I love the dress but I think Marcia’s vibrant personality and red hair got lost in the mix.

It took a while for Faviana to recreate Marcia’s dress, no? I imagine she had to find a lace that looks close to Elie Saab’s. You can buy Marcia Cross’ 2008 Emmy’s Elie Saab dress for less at edressme for $338.
