2009 Oscar Awards Red Carpet Fashion, part 1

Here we go, Style It Less’ up to the minute coverage of the 2009 Oscar Awards Red Carpet Fashion. Feel free to opine as I post pictures of the stylish (or not) celebrities from the red carpet.

Miley Cyrus looks MARVELOUS. I love her Zuhair Murhad silver with black trims petal-tiered belted ballgown. The wide belt gave it a youthful touch. The dress is very Cinderella-esque era 2009. I think of all the red carpet look that Miley has sported, this is by far her best and my favorite. She looks like a glamourous princess tonight.

Vanessa Hudgens is wearing a Marchesa black strapless mermaid dress. She shared that the dress was originally short but was redone into a long mermaid dress especially for her to wear at the Oscar’s. The dress has a gathered featherings on the top with a few white flowers around it. Vanessa looks beautiful.

Beyonce, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Tajari P. Henson after the fold..

Beyonce as usual is representing her own bizarre style in this House of Dereon Couture black strapless with embroidered gold leaf dress. I’m really not a big fan of this dress but then again I can count in my fingers the times I actually like anything that Beyonce wears at the red carpet. The gown she wore at the Inaugural Neighborhood Ball was probably the only dress I’ve liked from Beyonce. Oh well.

Sarah Jessica Princess is stunning in this Dior Haute Couture ‘barely mint’ belted strapless gown. I love the beaded details on the top.

Taraji P. Henson looks divine in this Roberto Cavalli cream strapless tiered mermaid dress. She accessorized with a bold choker necklace.

Sarah Jessica Parker : Fuchsia Peep-Toe Pumps For Less

Sarah Jessica Parker looked stunning at the Sex and The City The Movie DVD Launch Party. I think she was going for an Audrey Hepburn look with her hair up, little black dress and gloves. Except SJP made it her own by adding a modern twist thanks to her fuchsia peep-toe pumps.

Even though I’m scratching my head at the idea of a DVD launch party and everyone dressing up like they’re going to some gala, I can’t get over about SJP’s fuchsia pumps. Sooooo sexy. I just have to find Sarah Jessica Parker’s fuchsia peep-toe pumps for less for all of us.

Steve and Barry’s Filed For Chapter 11 Protection

Steve and Barry’s just filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection yesterday.

So how does this affect SJP’s Bitten Line? Amanda Byne’s as well. How about the $15 Stephon Marbury sneakers? I was planning on shopping there for my son’s Back-to-School clothes.

All I could say is, maybe Sarah Jessica Parker should’ve worn one of her dresses during the Sex and The City Movie premiere. Then she would’ve helped with sales big time. And, she wouldn’t been perturbed and embroiled in one of the biggest fashion-gate with her Nina Ricci gown that has actually been worn by Lauren Santo Domino and Lindsay Lohan before her.

I know I know, I love stirring the pot. Hehe .

From Megan Fox, Lindsay Lohan, Anne Hathaway, The Pussycat Dolls, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Hudson, Paris Hilton, Liv Tyler, Whitney Port. I added Audrina Patridge and Heidi Montag since they made an effort to look like their usual skanky selves, heh.

I must admit, that for an MTV award show, they all managed to look HOT. Yes, even Paris Hilton . And of course, Audrina Patridge blended right in with her signature uber-tight mini-dress, heh. Did you see SJP’s tied booties? It’s certainly something for a warm weather, hehe. My favorite is Lindsay Lohan’s purple belted tiered mini dress. I thought she looked gorgeous. I don’t care if it was too short. Well it’s a mini-dress, hello. But yeah, LiLo looked nice . How about you? Who was your favorite celeb in a mini or cocktail dress from the 2008 MTV Movie Awards?

BTW, you should check out how HOT Johnny Depp was. Oh My God!

Sex and The City Movie Premiere Nixes Red For Pink Carpet

Sex and The City : The Movie, as well as the 4 glamourous stars sure knows how to make a splash. Forget red, let’s walk on pink carpet. AWESOME!! . 1. If I see another picture of Lindsay Lohan in leggings I’m going to throw up.

2. If I see another picture of Kim Kardashian wearing leggings and proudly showing off her camel toe, I’m going to throw up. I don’t mind the booty, just not the camel toe, please.

3. If I see another Angelina Jolie pregnant picture looking all marvelous with my Brad Pitt twins, I’mma…. hmmm she’s pregnant so I’ll be nice. I’ll stay green with envy, heh,

4. If another “celebrity” comes out with his/her own clothing line, I’m seriously going to throw up.

5. If Sarah Jessica Parker comes out with another stupid headpiece I’m definitely going to throw up.

Can I just say how much I am looking forward to the Sex and The City Movie? Oh My Gosh. I hope it doesn’t disappoint eh. I’m trying to ignore that damn thing on Sarah Jessica Parker’s head. I just don’t understand why she has to make a “statement” like that. Whenever she feels like it. Just because you feel like you can do it doesn’t mean you should. SJP can be so annoying sometimes, but whatever. Other than that, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Catrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis all looked marvelous at the London Premiere.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s BITTEN On Project Runway

Sarah Jessica Parker assigning contestant to create something for her clothing line BITTEN under Steve and Barry’s was the first episode I caught of this season’s Project Runway. I admit, I have been neglectful on catching up with Heidi and Tim, heh. It was quite a challenge for the designers ‘coz they had to spend $15 on materials to create 2-piece outfit that costs only $40. I’ve been to 2 Steve and Barry’s store. Once in Upstate New York during our vacation this year and one time here in NC. The nearest Steve and Barry’s store is like 35 minutes drive away. So I have an idea of how BITTEN line looks like. I’ve bought some of them. Albeit my first day of wearing the BITTEN red canvas sneaker was a little “firey”, when I visit Steve and Barry’s again, I’d certainly buy more of Sarah Jessica Parker’s clothing line and other stuff from Steve and Barry’s of course.

Anyway, when the designers started showing their sketches to SJP, I was really nervous for them. They were all too elaborate and was afraid it didn’t fit the BITTEN line. After all the drama in the sewing room, I actually only liked a couple of designs.

The second outfit won. A neck tie trapeze dress and a shrunken vest. It’s from Victorya which I knew instantly would win coz it was chic and I could see Sarah Jessica Parker actually wearing it. I’m looking forward to my next trip to Steve and Barry’s to check out the winning piece. I might even buy it for myself. Find out your nearest Steve and Barry’s store location because the winning piece is on special limited edition.
