Classic Button-Down Shirt : Skirt & Boots

For the second look in our classic white button-down shirt series, here is a combination of the shirt, skirt and knee-high boots. The classic shirt is meant to be worn un-tucked. The white shirt should flow over the skirt then cinched on the waist by a wide belt.

Hot Pink splotchy wooden bangle, $6.80

I added a hot pink splotchy wooden bangle to a pop of color. The overall look is $99.84. The boots could be your go-to shoes for the rest of the Fall and Winter season as well. It works with skirts, dresses, and pants. You can wear black tights underneath if you want but for now, we’ll go bare. The knee-high boots is actually tall enough, just below the knee to give ample cover-up for the legs.

Here’s a very cute and easy Spring or Summer Look that won’t cost any of us over $100. It’s under $60 actually.

The smocked tube dress actually comes in colors red, yellow, and white. I think the accessories could work with any of the other colors as well. The overall total of this look is $56.48. We still have leftover for a purse but I’m sure any of the purses we already have would do. Most preferable a while or black purse. Something solid and nothing printed. Let’s try to save a few dollars for another Look For Less idea next time.

I saw the Chiffon ruffle top from Forever21 and it reminded me of my Ashley Judd Keyhole Tie top. I just had to make a Look For Less outfit for all of us. I am really loving this particular style of top this year. I can see myself buying a few more in the days to come.

Invitation To Style It Less Project

Here is an open invitation to all of you bargain fashionistas out there. I’ve been wanting to start this Style It Less Project for a while but other things always come up to distract me. I did have a contest last year asking everyone to create Under $100 Looks and a lot of your participated so If igured I’d make it a permanent fixture here at Style It Less.

With the economy’s downturn, now is the perfect time to show everyone how you manage to look great for less. You can read all the details of this Style It Less Project here. I am looking forward to seeing all your fabulous stylish looks for under $100/$150/$200.

Once Style It Less Project settles on it’s comfortable phase, I’ll offer some incentives like prices but for now, the pride and being able to inspire other bargain fashionistas with your own outfits will be the reward. Let’s get it rolling first then I’ll see what I can do later on for price incentives .

Eva Longoria : Casual Day Look For Less

Eva Longoria-Parker looked casual chic in her long sleeves shirt, fringe scarf, skinny jeans and peep-toe pumps ensemble this week when she met a fried for tea (or coffee) in Los Angeles. The huge sunnies added some glam touch in this casual get up. I can see myself wearing the same style too. I’m pretty sure I have worn it a few times as a matter of fact. Except mine didn’t cost as much as Eva’s .

Look For Less : School Meeting Outfit

My husband and I had a meeting with our 5th grader’s Teacher and Guidance Councilor yesterday and here’s the Look For Less I came up with for a School Meeting outfit .

Celebrities like Kate Holmes, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Alba has been seen around town cuffing their jeans so I thought I’d do it too. It reminds of the fashion trend when I was still in college which I actually liked around that time. Apparently, I still do. Besides, I was cuffing the jeans before the celebs caught up with the “cuffed jeans” trend, heh.

The floral printed heels may look a little funky with an already patterned tiered top but I like it. The concept looks better in person. By the way, I put on a faux leather jacket to keep me warm.

Mothers Do Wear Chuck Taylor’s

Let me explain the title first. The day after I cropped and put a collage together from the pictures of me wearing the Black Sabbath Hi Top Chuck Taylor (3rd picture), I checked the entries from the Converse “The Doors” Sneakers giveaway and a comment from Joni made me smile. Apparently her daughter told her that Mom’s don’t wear Chuck’s. She couldn’t be more wrong .

I’m a Mom of 2, a 10 yr old boy and 2yr old girl. Look at the pictures above, I’m wearing Chuck’s . I also have a pair of the black hi-top Black Sabbath Converse sneakers (5th picture). I’m still pining over a pink pair, and the low top white “The Doors”. AND, I would definitely love to get a pair from the Pink Floyd collection as soon as it’s out. I don’t mean to put Joni and her daughter on the spot but Yes, Mother DO wear Chucks. It’s the only canvas sneakers I wear as a matter of fact. I’m not a sneakers (only when working out) kind of girl but I’d rock a Converse Chuck Taylor, anytime .

I would’ve loved it to showcase the Hi Top Black Sabbath All Star Converse Chuck Taylor by wearing skinny jeans or a straight leg jeans that’s cuffed at the hem but I didn’t want to change pants and we were about to leave so maybe next time .

I do need to visit my hair stylist to get my bangs trimmed and layer the ends of my hair again. I’ll do that soon. I want longer layers this time around so I’m trying to grow my hair longer even more.

All these “recessionitas” or “depressionistas” terms that are all of a sudden popping out when it comes to bargain shopping and fashion don’t really mean to us because here at Style It Less, we knew all along that we don’t have to spend too much to look fabulous. While they’re about to board our look for less train, we’re on our way to 2009 for more stylish and fashionable outfits for less. Hooray To Us.
