Style It Less

This Shoeholic’s Evolution on Fall Footwear, Part 1

In my early 20’s my family(hubby and son) lived in Upstate New York where when it’s cold, it is cold and when it snows, it’s a freaking blizzard. I said early 20’s, Yes we got married early. I’m going to be 31 this December and we’ve been married for 10 years so do the math :) . Anyhooo, during my errr, younger years, I loved chunky heels on boots. I had a couple of knee-high chunky boots for skirts and dresses but mostly I had mid-calf boots that I wore with jeans. Not only were they rockin’ cool, they were sturdy to keep me up from the damn blizzard waiting for me outside come Winter time.

Those are the boots I wore. In my early 20’s. During Fall and Winter in Upstate NY. I never wore UGGS, heh. For knee-high boots, I had these 2 pair.

I loved each pair. But as my age added up every year, my choices on Fall/Winter footwear has evolved. I’ve donated these boots to Salvation Army, 3 years ago. I hope some young woman who’s feeling rock and roll can take advantage of them.

When I hit 28, I found myself associated more on the knee-high boots category. And the heels have changed as well. To find out more, come back tomorrow :)

I remember that boot era! I have 1 pair still that I’ve hung onto. I felt so stylish and cool in those boots and yes, they did come in handy in the Winter (although I almost killed myself on slippery snow/ice a few times in the heels.)
I got married very young as well (not even 20), and it has been one of the best decisions in my life. Still happy 7 years later!

    Carrie,
Yeah boots with heels are not practical during winter. stacked heels are much safer, hehe. Congrats again :)

Chunky boots were in back then. So really people dont hate it was what was in style. I can relate with the snow here in Toronto,Canada we get so damn much snow you need some chunky boots too keep the salt n slush off your feet. You cant wear pretty suede boots unless you want to get them ruined :(
