My Piece of the Eluxury Good-Bye Pie

When stores close I’m always hesitant to buy clothes. What if they just don’t fit right? Am I able to return them? What if I cannot find a friend who wants them? That especially rings true with the retail closure of Eluxury.com.
So, to say good-bye to Eluxury.com I’m found this fancy purple Marc Jacobs Pear Resin Bangle Bracelet that’s marked down quite a bit to $210 that I’d be more then happy to invest in.  I know I won’t have to return it in fear that it won’t fit and the color is amazing. I love purple! Now, if only …read more

Winifred Grace Jewelry

Most people with some type of creative bone in their body find inspiration from nature and their childhood home. That is no different for jewelry designer Winifred Grace Gundeck who is from Miami Florida. She is the designer of some beautiful pieces that I happened to stumble upon a few days ago.
Ms. Gundeck and I both share a passion for the Spanish language, she has a degree in Spanish andso do I!  After spending time getting her Master’s in Graphic Design, she remembered how much she missed  to her youthful memories of selling barrettes on the streets. With these memories in tow, she decided to …read more

Adventures in Dress Shopping | Pieced Lace Art Deco Gown at The Frock

In my search for the the perfect 1930’s or 1940’s wedding gown, I have come across a lot of fabulous dresses. My parameters have been bias cut charmeuse, long sleeves, and, well, something that will fit on my not-so-vintage sized frame. This gorgeous pieced lace deco gown does not fit the requirements, but I still can’t get it out of my head. The elegant drape of the sleeves and skirt balances out the structured lace bodice perfectly. And although I actually hate bell sleeves, they don’t look costume-y on such a streamlined piece. Available for $2,650 at The Frock. Let …read more

Adventures in Dress Shopping | Wedding Dress Vision Board

Okay, so, no one actually makes vision boards anymore. They probably all use photoshop or some other computer collager, like I did. In any case, the idea is to find what you are looking for by defining it. This is what I am looking for in a wedding ensemble:
As far as shopping checklists go, it’s pretty abstract, but putting it together made me feel like I know what I’m looking for, and since i only have a few weeks, really, that’s definitely important.

Adventures in Dress Shopping | 1930s Wedding Dress by Miss Bombshell

Well, the search for other dresses has been postponed, now that I am searching for my very own wedding gown. We have decided to get married in April, so I don’t have a lot of time. Thankfully, the internet is an amazing bridal resource. The hard part is figuring out what, of all the billions of options, is right for you.
My fiancé and I (!!!) are looking for a quiet courtyard in the French Quarter, New Orleans, for the ceremony and reception, and I want a wedding that matches the delicate creole elegance of the city. I love the look of …read more
