Ever since I’ve experienced the “greatness” of the Full Coverage Kabuki brush and  Flawless Application Face Brush that came with the kit, I haven’t looked back. The bristles are soft and so smooth when it touches the skin. Even when I’m using either MAC, L’ancome and Wet’n'Wild brands of makeup. I’m lucky enough to actually be able to alternate from these 4 brands of makeup which took me a long time of experimentation and discovery process. But yes, these 2 Bare Escentuals brushes are my sidekicks. I’ll most probably try other brands one time or another because like any makeup obsessed chick out there, once you start, you want to test everything. But I’m pretty sure these 2 will always be on my top makeup brushes list.

Bare Escentuals Makeup Brushes

A couple of weeks before I started writing for Beauty Gizmo, funny thing happened to my really old hair dryer. It just died. It just completely blew up and died. It was one of those funny things but not really. Know what I mean? It was an old hair dryer though so it wasn’t really a surprise. Nevertheless, I considered it a major beauty disaster. I also found it ironic how and when it happened. See, my routine after shower is as follows :

• dry up
• brush my teeth
• moisturize, moisturize, moisturize

Then I would apply mousse all over my hair for volume. I kind of massage my hair with the mousse to make sure the whole head gets the treatment. The last process would be to blow dry with the hair dryer.

This is when the adage “something happens when you change your routine” creepily comes true. Instead of doing that step by step, I applied mousse on my hair after I brushed my teeth. I proceeded on moisturizing after that. When it was time to blow dry my hair, my old trusted hair dryer wouldn’t turn on. I was screaming in the bathroom to which my husband thought was funny which then irked me even more. It wouldn’t have if I wasn’t going anywhere that day. That’s the reason why I applied mousse on my hair and planned on blow drying in the first place. At home I usually just brush my hair as is after shower.

If I didn’t put mousse beforehand I might not have reacted the way I did but with the volumizing component sitting in my hair, I just knew I would be sporting a slightly slick set of hair. It’s really not a good look for me especially with my choppy bangs. Talk about a bad hair day. I braved that day with a hair full of mousse. As luck would have it, Wal-Mart was my first stop that day. A new Vidal Sassoon hair dryer was my first purchase.

Lesson of the day : Test your hair dryer before applying mousse on your hair.

When My Hair Dryer Died

Hello From Me To You

What were you doing ten years ago? Ten years ago, I was in first year high school ( I think ), getting shocked on how different it is from grade school. I was an adolescent exploring with vanity – as I swiped Johnson and Johnson astringent on my face every break time just to get rid of my oilies. It was a horrible breakout phase for my skin, then.

What are five things on your to-do list today? One sure thing – I’d be looking and staring at myself in front of the mirror, of course. My favorite thing to do.

1. Wake up and work my day job
2. Pack mineral makeup that I’d be shipping out within the day
3. Practice more eye makeup, watch more Youtube tutorials and read more makeup books
4. Blog
5. Take pictures of stuff that I’d want to blog about. I’d apply lipgloss when I’d go out. Most of the time I’m just in the office, which is a toxic production area that does not require me to apply makeup. heehee.

….and charge my Clarisonic Face Brush. Heehee

Snacks you enjoy? Piknik Ketchup. Best stuff in the world.

Places you’ve lived? Binondo, Manila ( Chinatown area in my country ) and Quezon City ( the biggest city in the metropolis ). So far, that’s it. I haven’t been really moving around.

What are 5 things you would do if you were a billionaire? I want to rule the world and mandate everyone to wear makeup OR ELSE. ( what a scary thought ). Seriously? Here :

1. Buy a beach house in the Bahamas, Maldives, Hawaii, and various beach destinations.
2. Build a very big resort in Boracay and manage it. ( I am a beach person! )
3. Buy all the best makeup brushes in the world , and get trained by the best makeup artists at my fancy. ( haha dream ON! ). Get all the best beauty gadgets in the world. Oh, I’d love a house full of beauty products. Like Richie Rich’s in-house McDonalds. I’d wish for an in-house Sephora!
4. Give money to charity and send children to school
5. Fill my closet with all the designer clothes, bags, and shoes that I want.

My Beauty-ful World Meme

I’ve been thinking about this for the longest time, and well, I’d like to ask everyone this question-

What is your preferred method of hair removal- be it for your legs, facial hair, eyebrows, and all those stuff?

Tweezers, those electric gadgets, razors, wax strips, cold wax, hot wax, in-threading or what not? Which is the best method, and why? Would you rather undergo a laser treatment to remove it permanently? Or are you patient enough to remove them over and over again?

It’s just that I’ve been contemplating if I should actually try to use a razor! ( I’m scared of blades, but everything’s worth a try! )

Hair Removal Question

Well, looks like someone has a nasty, nasty hangover from her vacation. Yeah, that’s me! This meme’s three months due, but it just showed up on my dashboard just now ( sniff , Dexie, sorry! ), so here are some secrets about me that I’d love to tell you !

1. I love everything about beauty. From products, to gadgets, to tools, just everything! I spend a majority of my budget splurging in beauty stuff.

2. I have more beauty gadgets than tech gadgets. It’s a 3:1 ratio.

3. I love to go to the beach. I’m in love with the beach and there’s nothing like getting away from the city, leaving your problems behind, as you surrender yourself to the sun ( I sound like a vampire here, heh )

4. I’ve always dreamed of being a makeup artist. In a few months, I shall realize that. I just need to.

5. My favorite season has to be summer. It’s a season of sunshine, warmth, fun, and love. Cold weather depresses me.

6. Another dream of mine is to be a really good photographer – and that means taking excellent shots of my beauty products, as well as glamour and fashion shots, and my biggest frustration, landscape shooting. I want to capture the soul of the place somewhat whenever I go places.

7. I’m in love, and absolutely in love with Colin Firth *blushes*.

7 Secrets of the Beauty Gizmo Girl

I’ve been quiet for approximately 4 days already, and I apologize! I just came back from a very blissful, relaxing vacation in the very idyllic province of Bohol, Philippines ( my country! ).

Just sharing to you where I went to – here’s a picture of the very famous Chocolate Hills ( lovely, lovely, breathtaking sight ), which is one of the tourist spots I’ve visited, aside from visiting tarsiers ( endangered creatures ), beaches ( are just love! ) and my very very special resort.
