Don’t know how to tie a scarf?

Do you love the look of scarves, but aren’t quite sure how to wear or tie one?
Texere Silk has a great online guide with dozens of ways to tie a scarf.  Try out the classic shoulder wrap for an added touch of style around your arms.  Want to sport a Diana Vreeland-inspired turban?  How about adding a feminine twist to the masculine tie?
And of course, you need a new scarf to show off your scarf-tying skills, right?  How about the Pucci “Diamante” silk scarf:

Glittering shoes for glamorous parties

February is the month for huge, celebrity-filled parties!
After all, there are the Grammys, New York Fashion Week is about to kick off, and of course – the Oscars are rolling out the red carpet in the next couple of weeks as well.
Since I am an opinionated fashion blogger, I must throw my two cents into the red carpet pool and pick a few special accessories that I think would make the red carpet walk a little more glamorous.
What am I recommending?  Clear, glittering crystals and pale gold!
Check out the “Brill” sandal by Sergio Rossi:

Christian Louboutin at the Grammys

Christian Louboutin’s iconic red sole Mary Jane platforms showed up on the red carpet once again at the Grammy Awards:
var iamInit = function() {try{initIamServingHandler(320,320,592842,”http://cdn.pis.picapp.com/IamProd/Resources/Css/css2.css”)}catch(ex){}}()
Even though the black satin Loubies seem to get the most runway time – there are tons of other options.  Why not rock some sexy leopard print slingbacks?

Or lose the platform, but still go with something outrageously feminine (”Petal” sandals)?

How about even trying some different colors (”Armadillo” striped satin d’orsay)

While this is an ongoing campaign, NHLBI puts a big focus on heart disease awareness during February, American Heart Month.”
So in honor of Wear Red Day, we’re breaking out the red accessories and having fun with the boldest color in your closet!

Check out this charming “Big Heart” clutch purse from Marc Jacobs:

Waterproof and fashionable? Is that possible?

It’s snowy, sloppy and hovering right around freezing today.  The roads and sidewalks are covered with slush – there’s no way you can wear a pair of fashionable boots today, right?
Wrong!
Water-proofing technology has come a long way, and that means you wear a pair of fabulous boots and keep your toes dry at the same time.  No more slogging around the city in heavy rain boots!
Need some proof?  Check out these sleek black “Aquatalia” ankle boots by Marvin K. Holly:

How about a tall boot with high heels?  The “Minna” by Sudini should fit the bill:

And then there’s the ultimate test… …read more
